.....so..... what happend to this fourm?

ill be coming to track days this year, i cant wait.

I think the lack of necc events has contributed to the degradation of a solid member base as well as the board going down for some time.

It would be nice to see it thrive again, i’ll help out in any way

It hasn’t been for lack of trying. I personally helped run a number of track days last year and there were next to no actualy NECC members who actually came out.

I would seriously like to know how it is that the Board is always being blamed for lack of action but when we do run events the memebrs don’t attend? I don’t get it.

Slightly off topic…it as mentioned that things will be rolling in May, right? Why so late? Also IMO I think that you guys should keep everyone updated on what is going on whether its small or not. Showing some sort of communication to everyone on what’s going on with the club will show that you guys haven’t forgotten about us “potential members”

To me, it’s a bit frustrating that you guys have been fairly quiet and have not said much other than" we are working on some things" back in like Feb. And then it gets quiet until people start asking questions again.

If it’s a matter of lack of time and lack of help, by all means let us know, maybe there are a few of us who are willing to help out. I am sure there are some of us who would like to help get this club rolling again.

Just don’t remain silent. Being on the BoD, IMO it’s all your duties to remain active and continually communicate with the members to let them know what’s up and the progress you guys are making.

Have you thought of having a Club registration day cruise/meet this month (April)? I know there are a number of us who would like to meet some of you guys and possibly become members. But the quiet of the forum is slightly disconcerting.

Are you the same guy that WAS a member of NECC initially and then went off and started your own NLR club? That really was productive wasn’t it?

As for your suggestions: great. Didn’t see you at the last general meeting we had.

I will do my part. Let’s see. I will first take my 65 hour per week job and ask that to wait for me to do NECC stuff. They my three other volunteer positions can go on hold too and oh, I guess I can leave my house renovations on hold as well and focus all my energy on the NECC.

Frankly, I would love to see this club do great but all the suggestions in the world don’t help one bit if when we do have events the members (and potential members) don’t attend. Damien, you haven’t attend a single NECC track day in two years. Please let us all know what it is you think the club is doing wrong with those events that you think needs to be corrected so the hoardes of potential members show up.

MyGTR:

Sorry man you have the wrong guy. I was never a Nissan owner nor did I ever attend one of your meetings in the past. I’m a noob looking to join a local car club now that I am a nissan owner… So your assumptions failed and frankly are dumbfounding. Why would you assume anything without getting proper facts?

But whatever. If you take offence to suggestions so easily, it tells me there is more going on with this club than what is being said. And that is a problem especially if there are eager people wanting to join up.

Just to clarify, I never once said you had to put your life on hold for the club. All I said was if you needed help because you guys are tapped to thin, let us know and maybe SOME OF US can help you out. And all I suggested was that you guys communicate to the rest of us NOOBS what is going on.

Now tell me how hard it is to post a thread or answer a few questions on a forum? You frequent this place already right? So why make a big deal out of a simple question?

Maybe you guys are stressing out, maybe there are things going on with this club that we will never know. Whatever the case may be, it’s none of our business. But we don’t need to be left in the dark. Just a simple update every once in awhile, that’s all I was asking for.

But if your attitude is “we don’t want any new members”, then let me know now and I will quit wasting your time and look elsewhere.Because your last sentence tells me that’s what you are thinking.

I can see how MyGTR might be angry. The reason nothing has been posted is because we are still trying to get everything together. I know its frustrating being on the Board right now because things have changed a lot since a productive 2006 season. 2007 was a hard year with us trying to do too many things without anyone helping or showing up. I’m not blaming anyone but we did hold a annual board of directors meeting last year to inform everyone on what was happening and to vote for a new board. I think 6 people showed up. As for the late start to events this year well we hopefully are having another election again in late April/May. Things should be lightly sketched in by that time. I also don’t see how we are quiet. We just had a logo discussion thread. We just did a survey asking what you wanted this year. We have said the forum is a temp fix until we can get something up. I try to keep an active role on here. There is not a day that goes by that I am not on here. We are just asking you to please bear with us through this transition.

Not a problem, just let me know if you need any help with anything. I have some skillz that you can take advantage of you like to

I attended one, you hold a necc drag day and i will gladly come, track is not my stuff.

At the same time, my necc membership expired ages ago, no one contacted me for a renewal, so i no longer took part.
Honestly, I think the day Aaron departed was the high point of the club. It just seemed to take a downward spiral from there. It takes someone with a lot of heart for the cause to make something like necc work, he “started” it so he had that heart.

Being that I am one of the guys behind the scenes right now, I totally disagree with you. Aaron does have a lot of heart and is responsible for the huge success in this club, but we all have to move on. Mike has taken over and he also has a lot of drive and energy to keep this club headed in the right direction. Running a non-profit organization is much more complex that you would imagine. You have to deal with budgets, bylaws, annual general meetings, etc. on top of all the car club stuff.

This is our first season without Aaron and it will be a steep learning curve, but we’ll be successful.

I am fully aware of what it takes to run a non profit organization properly. Would i do it? no.

Anyways when the forum went down so did a lot of members and that is what is killing it right now in my mind.

if you guys need any help please let me know! website or otherwise.
