Just curious to what you guys do end game in WoW?
I know you guys have instances. How often do you do them? What jobs? What are the minimum requirements to do end game activies?

ive never done end game instances but prob lvl 60 + epic or really good gear and a good end game guild
everything takes 2-3hrs. + so unless you have a good chunk of time, which i don’t right now, there’s not much else to do except go stalk lower level horde.
Mostly depends on the guild and which end game instances you are doing. My guild has just very recently started doing end game but have our schedule filled. MTW ZG, TFAQ20, and Sat MC. We got very far initially in ZG with everybody wearing only blues and having very low experience.
The guild I’m in raids 3-4 days a week for the 40 man stuff, and does the 20 man stuff whenever its up with who ever is online. Molten core has been on farm status for a while, and we’re working on Nefarion in blackwing lair (final boss in there). We also have the first boss killed in aq40 although we really havent done much in the way of that. Basically, you need to have a good amount of time to devote when you do raid (jobless atm so I have a bit of extra time =x). gear is nice to have although if you’re skilled and mature, you’re gonna get be getting the gear anyways, but alot of high end guilds do want you to have some amount of gear so they know you’ve at least raided before.
OT:
does anyone want to start a new character and do all the quests with me… then ill buy a new comp and play.
I’ll play with you jon
I haven’t touched wow in like 4 months.
LOL
i just started a horde tauren on detheroc server yesterday.
is everybody still playing on shattered hand? I’m a lev 30 human mage and I need a guild
WtF I don’t understand this jargon >.>; Nefarion? AQ40?
Nefarion = final boss of blackwing lair. Big black dragon with like 1.2 million hp and a really annoying first stage.
AQ40 = latest end game instance that was put in game in patch 1.9. Far and away more fun than MC and BWL but also alot more challenging =)
So, is there an end to the game? Can you actually beat… like… a final boss?
Sure you can beat him. But he just respawns when the instances reset each week
can he get killed by more than one guild in the same week, or is it once he is killed he is dead and another guild has to wait?
Depends on what boss it is. There are basically two kinds of bosses you’ll face. Those in instances (the zone is basically your raid groups and they reset each week on tuesday during maintenance), and there is also outdoor world bosses who are fair game for whoever gets to them first. We had a couple of dragons spawn today and we killed one of them, so we’re the only group that will get that kill until he respawns later on. The instanced zones however can be done by as many guilds on a server can get groups to do them.
Some good info on raids and the different zones can be found at http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/basics/raidarea.html
End game is fun… IMO… PVP is the best part of end game, and throughout all the lvls as well.
RAID encounters can get boring and repetative unless you got IRL or good ingame friends to make the time pass… and the time less painful.
Excpect to put aside at LEAST 1-2 hours for the lower end game stuff… things that take 5-10 guys…
The larger encounters… 20-40 man… best put aside at least 3-4 hours that night… and expect to come back to that same dungeon at least once or twice or three times to make it to the end of the dungeon if your guild is new at that Dungeon and still learning…
Some guild do runs every night… others once or twice a night… your lvl of commitment can be large or small, depending on the guild you get into.
Which brings me to my last point… Getting into a guild is probably the biggest aspect of the end game… it can mean the difference between doing end game stuff and not doing it. A large emphasis is on the guild… which is one thing I don’t really care for. But there are alot of quests you CAN do on your own, but the most emphasis/fun is in the big End game raid/dungeon encounters.
As for proffesions… they are tied rather heavily with doing dungeon raids… because in order to get rare patterns, and rare schematics to make really good gear… you have to be in the raid to get the drop. The proffesions are ok, engineering is probably the best in terms of fun factor due to the fact you can make bombs, mind control caps, rocket skates, and other fun stuff.
If your interested in joining… join onto Shattered Hand… alot of us are on there… I think you’d really like it Andy, give it a try.
mage is up to 37 on Shattered Hand and rogue is at 30… mage/rogue : Minny/Omeba
I don’t know if I have the time to go into WoW. . . maybe after a month or so I might consider, just to evaluate the game. . .
FFXI just released a new expansion with a LOT of new stuff to do ;o
3 new jobs, a lot of mid game content confirmed and possible end-game content. . .
From what I gather in Matt’s post is that there is a lot of decent WoW end game stuff… Your end game takes 20-40 people sounds similar to our 36-50 player end game raids. So far my Linkshell, Guild to WoW, has roughly 50 active persons and there are only 2 days out of week that there is no “official” end game activites. Monday is the one only day, and Sundays does have a lot of end game fights.
End game participants requires completion of many missions and at least one job to 75. Level 75 is the cap, but there is the potential to gain experience points to placed towards merits. Merits used to enhance stats and abilities of a job. These merits apply for any job from 10+ on a tier level for each 10 increment.
To give a better overview, there are the following events: Sky raids (fight Japanese derived named gods), Sea (Al’Tiau), Dynamis, Limbus, end-game mobs, etc.
In Sky, there is an area which requires the completion of 14 missions to be able to obtain access. These missions were released during the Rise of Zilart expansion that came out 3 years ago. While the missions are not too difficult, it only takes a group of 6 a single day to complete (roughly 15 hours). Upon access to the Sky zone, you can defeat 2 Notorious monsters (named and difficult) to pop the god of its respected area (Seiryu, Genbu, and some other names I forgot just now). To get the 2 popping NMs you have to spend roughly 15 min - 4 hours. Each popping NM requires a minimum of 10 persons to defeat. A god takes roughly 10-18 persons to defeat, but we take up 30. After defeating 5 gods, you get to defeat the god of the gods, Kirin. Kirin takes about 40 persons to defeat. All along the way, you can obtain useful items, armor, weapons and abjurations (items to uncurse items) to yield excellent gear.
I don’t have Sea access, but this requires the completion of the last expansion Chains of Promathia. These missions are level capped and are extremely difficult to complete. There are 6 missions but each mission takes roughly 5 hours - ??? to complete. Sea contains certain Notorious monsters called Jailers that can be popped by items killed by monsters in sea or by other Jailers. Jailers do not drop the pop items needed all the time. After defeating all the Jailers (which are named out of the Catholicism’s Virtues) there is a slight possiblity that Absolute Virtue will spawn. AV is known as the most difficult monster in the game and has only been defeated through use of a terrain exploit.
Dynamis, instanced area, is the portion of end gaming that makes or breaks the skill level of a Linkshell. It requires the completion of the basic missions of rank 5. These requires the defeating of several extremely difficult monsters. Time is limited and is extended by defeating certain monsters. Each monster spawns multiple monsters that link together when turned aggressive. Most pullers will die on purpose to limit the monsters a group has to encounter, (By the way, there is experience penalty upon dying). There are 10 dynamis’s total and 3 of them requires defeating other dynamis. Dynamis can only be attended once every 3 days out of a week.
I don’t have Sea Access. . .so I don’t know much about LImbus. Limbus sounds like Dynamis though, but you get coins to get other items.
Other mobs, refer to difficult spawned monsters, Land Gods, and Wyrms (dragons). Wyrms are really difficult. They can take 1hour-3hourrs to defeat. They spawn once every 3 days and take 25-40 people to defeat. They also spawn in areas of highly level and aggressive monsters. Land Gods are monsters that drop items and abjurations. There place holder monster spawns once every day. The god is a random spawn (out of 3 times spawned). Land Gods are King Bahamut, Aspilideon (sp?), and Fafnir. By the way most strong Notorious Monsters must be defeated in 1 hour or they go in super strong mode and 1 shot anyone
End game has a lot of content and takes a lot of time >.< Each event is expected to take at least 2-4 hours. Death is expected. I die in Dynamis-Xarcabard (the hardest one) 6 times. I lose 400 XP each death, with Reraise 2. My 75 level cap is 43,000xp. I can gain in a party 6000xp in 1 hour of XPing. That day, I lost 2400 xp and we got no items that drop ; ;
