I just re-read this post and realized it sounded kind of wrong. I was not taking a shot at STM, just simply stating I really enjoyed my experience with 4WS and I was happy to be treated the way I was.
Anyways,
I got my radiator in. I bought a used one for $90 shipped and can’t complain. It holds fluid.
I’ve also decided I want to put my cams in this weekend. Anyone down to wrench?

You’ll need a bungee cord to keep tension on the timing belt and cam gears too. Get those bump sticks in there and make some more power
why is your intake w/ maf on the car, and bov still recirculated if you’re on speed density now??

Anyways, as an update. I’m taking my car to STM to have them do a few little minor tests, replace some worm-drive couplers with t-bolt clamps, and to have them do a before and after dyno.
I will also be having emery tune my car this time around. I know it’s not the best for comparisons, but I’m interested in keeping my business somewhat local and I also wanna give emery a shot to see what he can do for me.
I’m kind of excited to be honest, because I’ll be able to decide where I want my car tuned from here on in. I’ll be basing this on drive ability mostly though.

Idc, the car is my DD and I <3 the shit out of it the way it is. Dyno sheets are worthless to me, but it will be interesting to see how shitty BC cams are compared to kelfords.
Honestly, I was going to hold off on the cams till I got the FP red. But I’m too anxious I want to see some reward for how much I’ve been working for parts lately haha. $700 for cams and springs needs to put $700 worth of smile on my face.
I actually bought a cool new tool to use for the valve springs. I’m going to attempt to do this with the head on. I hope my compressor is large enough to support a cylinder at a time while I do this. If not I’m going to have to call in some favors…
Oh, and anyone that wants to help. I’m trying to start this tomorrow. Does anyone have the threaded rod on hand to take the tension off the timing belt?

A decent sized cam on a stock ECU car sounds so good :tup: The AEM takes all the fun sound out of it
Give him a shot dude hes a great guy. Tamer definitely knows what he is doing when it comes to evo’s. However when it comes to ragged edge tuning I feel like there is only so much you can do from 1000 miles away.
I’m sure you will love his work though. My car runs amazingly, gets way better gas mileage and has a completely smoother power curve. Prior to tamer, my car died up top on pulls which made high speed rolls kind of un exciting. Now I feel like my power band is much broader.
I have high hopes for STM, they seem to know what they’re doing when it comes to putting 3000lbs of metal down 1320 feet of track. fast.
And f that AEM stuff. I’m keeping my stock ECU in my car haha. The day I have to change ecu’s is the day I dial my car back a couple lbs of boost and stop trying to get more out of it…
