Because my previous tune wasn’t a complete one. My injectors weren’t scaled properly, therefore I was getting poopy gas mileage and my fuel trims were way off. Also, these power adders won’t be installed until this spring. By then I’ll have the fund-age to take on every task I want to accomplish with this car.
I got the whole setup for an unbeatable price BNIB. Tamer really hooked me up, as always! Installation will likely be done at Elma automotive inc, since time and time again they have proven to be a great value to every project I’ve taken on recently.
Mark my words that you will not even be in the BALLPARK of what im running next season. I would be amazed if you even come close to what I did cam-only lol. Love the car though. <3
Why didn’t you get dual springs and retainers and such? Even on an FP red you will most likely not run a 10.9 unless you do what mark did to his Evo, or lose quite a bit of weight from the car. Are you gonna be running 93 or switching to E85 or 100?
I’m not even done parts shopping. These were just the first to come to my door. I have no need for dual springs with these cams, they aren’t that aggressive. I will be running multiple fuel maps most likely. I have more parts things to buy first.
Nothing wrong with a little friendly competition. This is my DD so I’d like to see what it can do for me next year without going overboard. I’ve done my research though and I have a pretty good ball park of where I will be next year.
Either way, now that were done comparing penis size. I’m excited to get some umph out of my car.
You should put the cams and springs in yourself. It’s not that hard and you could most likely do it in a few hours and then you could get that tuning going again and race it Friday
I could do the cams myself. The springs I know how to do but I don’t have the tools or the time to get the tools together. Also, it’s nice working in a garage, something I also don’t have.
Oh And pat is the man.
Besides, I have no ambitions to race this season and put stress on parts I know need reinforcement (Tranny, which is cheaper to rebuild when NOT broke).
its a HUGE difference, youll be amazed and how much better the car shifts. ESPECIALLY at high rpms. ill shift at 8500 with my BR built tranny and quartermaster and its like a hot knife through butter… you cant go wrong with any shop either, shep, TRE both do great work as well.
i also use amsoil MTG in my tranny, ive used the stock stuff, redline MT90 and to me amsoil is the best ive used yet.
the ACT clutch will definitely help kill the tranny once you start making power, when i ran my cast manifold 35r it ate my tranny alive and i ended up exploding 2nd-4th gear where i had to replace EVERYTHING through those gears, haha.
