I also considered the 2002 WRX tarrrrbowagon. Was fun to drive, a lot of body roll, but that can easily be fixed.
Shitty throttle response, no low end torque…but great in all other aspects.

Who said i’d run a rotary lmao i want a v8 dropped in there. The rx7 is a fantastic chassis/platform. I could care less about rotaries or RBs or SRs or whatever heh.
The rx7 is sexy, relatively lightweight, shit load better chassis than a 240sx to begin with, better suspension, a true two seater, and so much more can be done in the long run to have an overall better car

With money dumped in either of the two even if they were equally quick, the rx7 would be easier to drive faster. I like my 240 but I’d still trade it for an rx7
Hell if you start making any serious power in a 240sx the rear end has the shittiest traction and grip in the whole world… remember I don’t give a fuck about drifting or sliding.
And honestly if you are going to be arguing here, just for the record the rx7 is a better car than a 240sx period don’t be butt hurt about it just because its a 240 site. The money I spent on making mine corner I could have just saved myself the hassle and gone with an rx7

Ugh, Not again ahmed. Noone wants to hear this shit, if you are so hard for rx7’s than get one? You talk to much “I would trade my 240 for one” then why dont you have one? I dont think people were arguing that the rx7 isnt a good chassis, maybe if you read it. They are saying that the ROTORY ENGINE is unreliable, I dont think ahmed G wants to put a new engine in an already expensive car, notice his budget (4-8k).

Agree with volvo 850 turbo. Relatively cheap on insurance, good on gas, extremely cheap to modify for higher boost and tons of fun. Oh, and reliable as fuck.
Plus you can literally go out and buy two fridges, maybe a cow for milk and have the company of three delightful heavenly blessed beauties in one single expedition.
The only unfortunate thing is that they started sucking right at the 15 y/o point as some phggy company took over Volvo.

Not really feeling that list you have in the OP. Both Cadillac and Mustang are meh, but I don’t have first hand experience, but a Protege? Ugh, I wouldn’t go from a 240 into a Protege. My brother has one and I drive it a lot (more than the 240 bc the 240 is usually sitting in the garage lol), but it is really boring… They handle great but are really slow, plus FWD. Maybe if you got an MSP, but those still aren’t all that quick, and the FS engine is weak and can’t really take the boost past 200hp or else a lot of stuff starts breaking lol
I’m in the same position, selling my 240 and looking for a reliable DD that is pretty much headache free, and I’m looking for Miata’s. If you don’t mind the 2-seater they are amazing cars, really reliable, handle amazing, and are super fun to drive. They are kind of slow stock, but once you boost it you’ll be killing a lot of cars. Just my $0.02. You could get a clean NA for around $5000-$7000 easily, maybe even an NB.

That’s got the same problem as the Caddy though, nice car, but they’re horridly overpriced on maintenance and replacement parts due to the badge.
