Hey guys,
I am already feeling withdrawal symptoms from selling my 240.
Opinions on next car? Must still be driver oriented and newish, can’t afford major downtime anymore. Pure DD.
Option 1:
2003 Cadillac CTS (manual, 3.2 V6)
I have heard these things handle really well…never driven one so I can’t comment.
Option 2:
2000 Ford Mustang GT (4.6L V8)
Lol fail 2V modular. Also live axle. Still a great fun car. Shitty on gas. $$$
Option 3:
Mazda Protege5
Most practical choice…but it is FWD and slow as fuck.
Option 4:
You decide.
Thanks for the input. I have done plenty of research, I just want opinions at this point from people who have had experience with any of the above.
Whats the price range? IMO, All three are shit but the CTS is prolly the best.
Subaru legacy 2005+
Nvm say your price range. But how do you get caddy for 8k
Defs like 350z…
Or like an older g35

why not build a proper and reliable 240??? $8k can do it easily
waaaaaay better choice.
i’m thrilled with my S14… got over 60,000km’s with no major issues… other than a maf wire fraying and my battery going it’s bee perfect.
rx7
I have the protege, its great all around, but you will miss the RWD … but its amazing on gas, insurance, and parts. & if your price is from 4-8 , you could get it for around 2-3000 instead if you get a p5.
but i’d get a four door g35, they are getting cheap. throw some new g35 track pack wheels on it

Yeap, RX-7 for sure, especially if you want something expensive to maintain, hard on fuel and un-reliable.

I forgot to mention.
I hate RHD, also the car can’t be 15+ years old…maybe once I graduate and have a project car will that be ok, but not now, this is going to be a DD.

Wait that’s every real sports car DING DING DING DING
I don’t know why still this whole unreliable thing about rx7s still goes around the internet and high school cafeteria discussions.

The Caddy is a fun car to drive, big and heavy, but positive road feel and with a few mods sounds mean.

Have you any idea about whom you’re talking to? Have you, yourself, run a rotary specific performance shop?

shut the fuck up ahmed, rx7s are unreliable as fuck. theres a reason you dont see them rolling around all the time.
and dont even come back with the “well if you maintain them properly” bullshit line.
they suck ass even if you baby them and do everything properly

a year ago i would reccomend the is300, but now… i reccomend getting another s13.
You will regret what you’ve done.
very soon.
Stay away from the CTS. I’ve had long term experience with them and trust me not a good choice. Once 80k rolls around they turn into headaches. Electrical issues, and suspension (bushings mostly) Seem to become a consistent problem. Small problems like buttons and switches (common use) become temperamental.
2004ish Maxima. Ya fwd isn’t as much fun, but 6spd and 265hp. They sorta have a funny face but the interior is amazing.
in the same boat as you ahmad. looking for a new dd. right now i’ve narrowed my list down to (in order):
-s14 (maybe + winter beater)
-gc8 (maybe + winter beater)
-is300 (all year around)
i kind of cringed at your list. just my opinion though
