Sold my M5 :(

From my research it seems like the best warranty/service contract for the E55. Also, the service advisors at the MB dealer said they are very easy to work with on covering repairs. I bought both car and warranty through a dealer. I can’t really add much about the warranty paired up with the M5 as I wasn’t looking for it with that car in mind.

Do you mind sharing approx what the warranty will cost? I would certainly consider an 05-06 e55 if i can have one covered. Oh and is it transferable?

Pm’d and yes they are transferable. So if you can find a vehicle with the warranty already in place you’ll save a bit of money.

I told you I was going to transition into a newer dd! I honestly just got to the point where I was driving my gfs impreza more then the M5 since I just liked how nice and new it was. I really liked the auto as well. Could still drive a manual though.

BTW, I’m on single time, yeah, so whenever you want to wrench LMK! I need to lay out the O2/Intake sensors before I can wrap the harness.

cant do much under the hood though if you get a e55 with a warranty unless you go renntech but i could be wrong

You really don’t need to do much under the hood to an e55. It’s a power house stock and considering drews situation (IE having a huge project on his hands) I think the last thing he would do is mod his dd more than wheels and straight piping.

We will see. I lowballed on a few legacy gt’s today. My guy Rick is calling me around 7 with the manufacturer direct auction lists that I might be able to find an M5/550i from for real cheap then I would go that route and pay him for his time. I think I am certainly down to 550i/M5 but not going to buy for the sake of buying only interested if the price is so good I feel I could drive it for a year or two and not take a huge hit on it. Otherwise i will just spend ~20k on a low mile LGT and call it a day.

I know you E55 guys love them and I think they are great cars but I am just a pretty hard BMW/Subaru humper. Although they are super nice cars.

I’m just curious as to how many people own E55’s on this forums. It seems as if more and more of them are just popping out of the cracks.
