OT - What did you use for all of your floor sanding? Orbital or Sheet?
I need to do my stairs real bad. Worse than carpet was taking wood laminate and covering beautiful wood stairs. God Damn 70’s.

Don’t let the hood rats know about that sink! Also where did you get it?
We stripped the existing coating with chemical stripper then used an orbital sander followed by a hand sand in the direction of the wood grain.

That looks awesome, any concern with the tin back splash getting damaged easily from things bumping into it or does it seem pretty tough?
I opted for the plastic personally b/c it’s durable as fawk, Tin is gangster, but I was worried about the same reasons.

I have tin in my other house with no issues. It is thick enough that it would take some effort to really mess it up. So im not going to judge how you guys live lol but my backsplash doen’t suffer from domestic violence or anything of the nature. It for suer will not damage from say pots and pans bumping into it. Unless you are throwing them at it or smashing them against it.

Probably my favorite windows in the house. These are facing the driveway and are on the outside of my mudroom. Top is 8-9’ high they are huge. They are directly below the other ones on the staircase so if you are standing in the driveway looking at the mudroom above these is where the other ones pictured are.

I think my favorite part of the house (aside from the rape room and torture porn room) is the paint scheme on the outside. Looks very original style, new england type. Love that window as well. LMK if you need some help

Quick bump with a question. Did you refinish the railings to match the stairs or did you match the stairs to the railings? I have very intricate detailed wood railings that I do not want to refinish but I am going to be selling my house and want to refinish the stairs prior. I considered taking the treads and risers to a darker finish than all of the trim but it will not match the floor at the landing or the rest of the woodwork… I am pretty well stuck inside my own head full of ideas. I can take pictures if it helps.
I went darker on both [COLOR=black]and used the same stain on each. I used a floor color upstairs i liked and matched them to that so my 2nd floor and staircase appear the same. I still loved this project. Post pics! Oh and unless you can match your trim just paint it. Non matched but trying usually looks meh imo.

Yeah this is a good bang for buck mod. I dont think i had over $300 in materials and it is so much nicer.
