Someone to build a bolt in cage for my car (DSM Spyder)

First off - i am not really in a hurry, or ready to have this done in the next week or so, im posting this so i can start talking with someone about what im after…

Ok - so if i want to go faster than 13.5/8.5 at a track, apparently i need a cage…

So im looking for someone to fab up a cage for my spyder…

When the cage is in, i dont really care how it looks, or what panels need to come off…

i know giving me a price now prob wouldn’t be the easiest thing to do…but if you could pm/post with a ballpark quote (+/- 200$), or if we can meet up so i can explain what im after that’d be great.

and just so you know - this is the car its going in:

and to give you an idea of what im after: (im aware at min the bar under the top of the windshield would be welded…)

Pretty sure you don’t need a bar under the top of the windshield. You just need a standard 6-point cage. That cage doesn’t look legal. You have to have side bars that connect from just behind your shoulder and go to near where your feet are.

Correct

i know that cage isnt necessarily up to ‘code’, it was just a representation of what i was after…

from what ive read it only needs to be a 5 point cage up until 10 (or 10.5?, i dont remember, it was a few weeks ago when i was looking this up) - i need the main hoop, 2 rear bars, driver door bar, and a strap bar. i just figured that windshield bar would help with chassis rigidity.

There ya go.

From what I’ve read that cage doesn’t do well in the spiders…iirc its because of the exta bracing/storage/motors for the top and because of the rear window motors the main hoop didn’t fit right.

I guess ill do a bit more digging into it though

im gonna bump this up, now that theres a few more forum sponsors on here!

updated the first post too, cage no longer has to be removed  im completely ok with taking out any interior panels, and whatever as long as its legal and the top can still go up/down!

The car is gonna be parked soon, and completely stripped for next season so let me know!

I can get you in touch with one of the guys I race with, he does really nice 6pt cages for around $600 but IDK if it would be a little bit more, you would have to completely strip the car out to have him do it.

Thats about what i figured i was looking at…but depending on how tomorrow goes, the spyder might be getting stripped this weekend so now its a cage…or seats/harness etc…
