Are you sure a 1mm larger drill bit in a press will give you an opening within tolerance for a bushing or is that not critical? If you mail it to me I can do it.
There has to be a drill press between b-lo and h-town lol.
depending on what it is, might be smarter to do it on a lathe
I may be able to help. You just need bushings drilled out? If they need to be perfectly round they really should be reamed or bored as well.(Drilled holes are not round) What size?
I don’t think a lathe will work due to these being an offset hole. They are 1mm too small to fit the dowel pin from the cam onto. They guy who machined these in the first place sent me the correct drill bit for the tolerance to the cam dowel pin so I know its correct.
I’m pretty sure this has to be done with a drill press, or something of that sort.
Here is a picture of what I need drilled (IE I have 8 bushings that need to be drilled out. :
4 jaw chuck, and a small indicator to center it and it can be done. i don’t have a nice enough finger indicator to do it on my lathe or i would offer my services.

That is actually an end mill not a drill bit. Looks like a job for a bridgeport mill. It will definately take some time to center each part before it is milled.

I understand what you’re trying to do here, but you’re only able to advance or retard the same amount each direction…
why not just drill a new hole in the cam gear ~178 degrees away? Your cam gear markings would be off, but that’s something that’s easy to compensate for…
Secondly, that’s not really a drill press job. I would definitely throw it on a bridgeport in a 3 jaw chuck.
Thanks for the info newman, again, if I had access to a machine shop I’d have it done already! LOL but yea, someone had mentioned a bridgeport would be the better option, still I haven’t found anyone willing to help me out.
At any rate, The bushings I had made were designed with the offset hole for the cam dowel pin, thus allowing me to go ±2*, ±4* on either camshaft, just seemed a little simpler idea at the time rather than degreeing out the entire cam gear to find a new location for a hole for the cam dowel pin.
