When i try clicking on the link to the driver it opens and then closes quickly on safari and says “windows xp” in the left hand corner?
So i could just dwl different drivers through bios and then it would recognize the drive? Again PC noob here.

Like I said id be fine with leaving the PC with someone if they can get the thing running.
Well I was able to get a windows 7 disc. I threw it in and windows started installing! Problem arose at the end of the install. I got a prompt that said windows could not install due to a hardware issue. I tried re installing and ended up getting the same prompt. I guess im back at square one…
Not trying to be a dick but I won’t ask again and I’ll just give up trying to help if I can’t get an answer on what the storage controller is set to in the bios. If you did post that and I missed it I apologize and please refresh my memory. That could be one cause for the error (improper bios setting). Also how did you partition/format the drive?
What other options to you have on the advanced settings…beyond cpu configuration.
The storage controller settings should be under advanced. I don’t have a computer with that bios to see what you do exactly.
Just saying are you special it’s not hard to hit sub low 30s if not 20s like shown here on a air cooled system. The heat contact pipes made of of copper cool way better now, get your head out of you ass, a Prescott pentium 4 478 would run 60c idle, I’ve really never seen a p3 higher 70c
Traderbase let me know if their is a setting you can see or want me to post that could solve my issue. I’m going to move around the RAM to different slots to see if that could be a culprit (long shot i know…).
I did as they say to do via - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2466753 . I got into setpact.log and found 2 errors,
the first error code 1208[gle=0x000003e5]
the second - An error occured while either deciding if we need to specialize or while specializing; dwRet = 0x4b8
Did this ever work since you bought it? Did it work with the existing ram and the old hard drive with any operating system?
You’re having a rough go on this one, most computers are nowhere near this quirky, that I can promise.
The Win 7 is 32 bit full version, not upgrade right?
