Yup, as mentioned, they don’t need to get coated.

Although aluminum doesn’t “rust”, it oxidizes, which is still a form of corrosion.

Unlike rust on steels or other ferrous metals (metals containing iron), which is ferric-oxide, the aluminum-oxide formed is so dense that it actually protects the base metal underneath from further exposure to oxygen and consequently more corrosion.
