Well about a 1/2 hr ago I was coming down the hill that crosses the Dawson bridge on the northside. There are 2 bends before the road goes strait down the hill, I took the first bend and then 2 motercycles came whipping past me going the other way when the 3rd bike weeved and then slid on the groundcomming strait for me. I hammered on the brakes like never before and luckily he was ok and very shaken up. I asked him if he was alright and he said yes, then I asked him …how’s my car! His bike and himself slammed into the wall and shit was everywhere.
His life came so close to being taken that his bike just scrapped the lower right hand side of the front of my car, no indents or broken anything. At most it may need to be repainted, but when I got home I could get some of the marking off with my thumb so I’ll take it to the car wash tomorrow. I told him I would get a quote from Tri Star and he will settle the bill, he complied quickly.
His buddies came back about 2 minutes after the accident, the rider said to them that’s it that’s all no more…I think this experience scared the shit out of him and it should. I told him that he was going way to fast and if I hadn’t been paying attention he wouldn’t be here.
It just amazes me how the recent deaths aren’t slowing these guys down. I was driving home last night and three guys pass me on baseline doing at least ~110 weaving through traffic then start pulling wheelies. They were all wearing just shorts and t-shirts and a helmet and one guy was wearing sandles. It would be a quick way to turn yourself into hamburger I guess.
What a bunch of retards. Bikes are fun and all when used properly and with experience, but obviously these tools didn’t have it. Glad to see the situation turned out for the best and no one was injured.
On an other note I don’t really know what to say about the whole “biker boys incident” here nor am I trying to defend them but for the same token they could be saying the same sh*t about us people in cars/trucks/SUV’s cause they’re not the only ones known for weaving in and out of traffic or racing through out the city. I’m NOT saying what they did was right by any means I just wanted to say that it goes both ways. We can kill ourselfs/others just as easily as they can with our mods of transportation. Just my two cents.
Well here’s an update on last nights incident, the quote of the damage on my car came back at $681.16 and to my surprise the guy has already paid me for the damage in full and alpolagized for any inconvienience to me. I told him I’m just gald that he’s alright and still alive, he cancelled his insurance today and has given up street bikes, he said seeing how close last night came to being his last day here scared the shit out of him and he will just stick to dirt biking.
His buddy was so thankful that I was paying attention to the road, in that I returned with slow down because the next driver may not be…he agreed. They were doing 110km-120km up Rawsons Road and luckily I was doing 40km-50km going down.
In the end I’m just glad everybody walked away from this and learned a serious lesson.
this is actually one story I heard that ended well …owning up to a mistake in words and payment and a lesson learned by taking bike off the road and everyone is safer in the end …this makes mey day …
