Only if you have 6 or more moving violations though. I don’t think 1110A’s count. I got somewhere around 8 points of moving violations. Of course that was all from a few years ago, before I had the Escort 8500, since than I only got 1 speeding violation and the guy was judging my speed based on him, no hard evidence.

Seriously though Benny, I wouldn’t worry about it, just mail your ticket in soon and goto court on time, dressed well but don’t look like a complete tool in a suit, and you’ll be fine.

yep, send them the not guilty thing, always check no supporting deposition (unless you think you know more than them :lol) they will send you a pre trial hearing date , you will get to go talk with them and it will most likely be reduced to nothing. No big deal, pay 150 bucks and get on with life, haha

Some of the responses in this thread scare me.

  1. Never EVER plead guilty
  2. A lot of NY Troopers have the supporting deposition printed out on the ticket
    2A) The theory on doing that or not is still out there. Some say it pisses the cop off. It’s pointless. They always do it and it’s not going to let you off a ticket
  3. Contact the DA/ADA and ask for a plea bargain by mail
  4. Thrown out = Best choice but won’t happen
  5. Parking on pavement = Probably. Cops/Judges aren’t stupid (Well, many are) and realize that they charge you with this to generate revenue and will know if you have done this before); Say you WILL take your 6 hour to get this
  6. 1110A (Failue to obey traffic device) is 2 points but a NON-MOVING violation
  7. Reduction of the speed to bring the points down
  8. You just got fucked
  9. Take your 6-hour regardless

A lawyer is determined by the ticket. Getting one for a 2 pointer is ridiculous. If you NEED to, you have other problems.

Yeah, normally I stay out of the fast lane as much as possible, but then again my normal cruising speed is 85-90 on the northway…why? I don’t know. I’m an idiot and I know I’m an idiot but I’m powerless to stop myself.

If you cruise at 90 on the Northway then damn it’s only a matter of time… :lol Just kidding. I’m surprised the Northway cocksuckers are using laser now, usually when I see a trooper I only pick up Ka. I rarely get laser at all.

My friend gets tickets all the time and he gives them to some lawyer and she gets rid of them (supposedly) for a fee. If you want I can get more information on that for you.

It depends on the County. Schenectady is cracking down on that crap.

To be honest, it’s digusting that the cops dictate the final outcome of this. It’s a mockery of our court system.

yea it is. i got a ticket for supposedly blowin a light and got it down to parking on the highway no points and $100 fine…thats wat supposedly caused the accident with the heep…
