not always… somtimes the cop will get you in there and be like… what you think im going to reduce it? why would i do that when i did it once already and then you plead not guilty to the already reduced violation? trust me ive been there and done that… he should get a lawyer flat out… it might cost him more but if you have a record your always better off getting a lawyer because the DA and or the cop can always turn around and basicly tell you to go fuck yourself, plead guilty or go to trial… and then at that point if you dont have a lawyer your fucked.
