speeding tickets in japan = teh suck

I think Im going to be sick… And Im not even kidding…

I just got a 1500 Dollar speeding tickets for doing 90 Kilometers Per Hour, 30 Clicks over the speed limit on a 4 lane road in the middle of the night. Thats not even 60 Miles an hour when Converted. 1500 Dollars. This day couldent have got any better. I hate this f#$*ing country.

-Sam

and indiana just upped their maximum for speeding in work zones:

Don’t know if Sam is a friend of yours or not, but typical stupid American not bothering to know the punishment for breaking a law in another country before breaking it. I bet if he knew it was $1500 he would have slowed down.

~ ¥183,000??? Yikes.

he bill also creates a new work zone category for “aggressive driving” that makes it a misdemeanor to drive 46 MPH in a freeway work zone while flashing headlights and honking the horn at a slow-moving car in the left lane, or any other combination of three maneuvers deemed aggressive. The first offense carries a $5000 fine and up to one year in jail, while a second offense is a felony punishable by up to three years in jail and a $10,000 fine.

are you fucking kidding me?

While we are on the subject of work zones, if the signs are still up at night and no one working on the road, is it still a workzone?

I was told yes unless the signs are covered but I am intrested in hearing what other people have to say.

if the sign is still visable, its still a work zone

if all the signs got mowed down by a drunk, and are laying on the ground, still a work zone

if the sign had a garbage bag over it, but it blew 1/2 of and the cop can see it as he chases you down, still a work zone

just like school zone signs, its still a school zone @ 3am when all the kiddies are in bed at home

intresting. in amherst all the schools say 7am to 6 pm for school zones. i didnt know unless it said that, its all day.

^^^ then thats when its a school zone

but if the sign doesnt specify times, its ALWAYS a school zone

Meh - compare that fine to Finland. There, the fine is X-amount plus a percentage on last year’s earnings. I remember an article where the CEO of Nokia was levied a $116,000 fine for 15-over on his Harley.

If you’re going to speed do it in Maryland. I was down there for a car show and my friend got pulled over for 55 in a 30. Cop reduced it to 39 in a 30 and the fine was only $50…that included about $30 in taxes and other BS surcharges.

Germany does the sliding scale fines too, but they ticket people that are driving too slowly
