And once again, those articles may or may not be twisting numbers and statistics. No one directly says that the use of tasers caused xxx deaths. They say it’s “taser-related” or something similar. WTF does that mean? The taser may well have had nothing to do with the death.

read your own link and tell me you think, 100% without a doubt, that tasers are the SOLE cause of death in cases. then compare that to being shot.
then put yourself in a cops shoes and think about the fact that anyone is dangerous until restrained. i can give you 100 scenarios of how you would have to question your own safety while trying to give someone that you have been called to investigate the benefit of the doubt. YOU WOULDNT DO IT. if you did you would have a very short lifespan as a cop.
even in cases where they say a mental patient was tased…you have to have heard stories of mentally retarded people getting a knife, or gun and killing someone.

Non-lethal may not be right word for a taser, but less-lethal certainly is.
This shouldn’t be an arguement of semantics though. The kid was an idiot, he got tased, he’s still living, I’m sure he learned a lesson.
I think the excessive comes from the point that, he already had 4 knees on his back, was being choked, and was being cuffed, and THEN was taserd.

Of all those deaths from tasers, how many of them were cases in which the victim was high on PCP or Meth and “one” tasering wasn’t enough to take him down. I’ve been told about people that need more than 8+ officers one a single person to bring them down just because of the drug they were on.
Clearly this kid wasn’t on drugs but its only a given that if ur an ass to a government official, the police WILL get involved and escort your dumbass off the premise. In this situation, this faggot was out of line after being asked several times to stop resisting or else he’ll face the taser. He was pushing the limits of the cops and got what he deserved.
