sr idle

i noticed my sr doesnt idle lower than 900rpm. ive tried changing the maf no dif. this happened right around when i changed the bov I have a blitz dd it not recirculated, could that be the reason. i also have a small boost leak somewhere. could the boost leak or bov not being recirculated be the problem.

BOV not recerculated will be the primary cause. This is because the BOV is after the MAF, the ECU assumes it is a sealed system after the MAF, air is calculated and when the bov opens some of this air is lost but the ECU is unaware of it so the air fuel mix is rich which will cause this issue, having a boost or vacume leak will only exagrate this issue. You either need to have a device to allow for the loss of air volume OR recirculate the bov.

but even if the bov doesnt open, lets say i just started the car let it idle it doesnt drop lower than 900 rpm. but when i disconnect the maf it will go lower. Ive tried changing the maf so i dont think that is the cause.

try unplugging the vacuum hose going to the bov and and plug the hose with a bolt. does the rpm idle ok now? have you tryed playing with the idle air control valve?

it wont be a recirculation prob mine vents and what happens is when u clutch to a stop the revs drop to 500 then pick up my turbo car idles at 900 all the time though

huh…why dont you adjust your idle with the iac??

ive tried playing with the idle valve with the maf unplugged itll idle at a lower rpm but when its pluged i cant get it to idle lower than 900 but i can adjust it higher.

ill try out plugging the vacumm hose tom morning and see what happens. previously i was using a ka24de maf and it blew my spark plugs so i swapped it out and along with that i swapped my maf, so i wasnt able to find out the problem. im sure its not the sensor its self because i baught another 1 so i have two now and they both do the same thing.

maybe the tach is off…my current tach reads 300 when im really at 700. if not maybe you have a vacuum leak. could be vacuum hoses, bad intake, tb, iac gaskets, etc

you were using a de maf or an e maf??? I know the e maf will work not the de tho… try my tip for figuring out if the bov leaking.

i had a de before , but ive tried the original sr maf and a “E” maf . right now im using a E maf

alright i tried taking the bov’s vacuum off and plugging it nothing happen.

aftermarket unlike stock bov’s are closed always. During idle it is closed.

Did you seal the bov properly on the flange? also, how do you have the vacum lines hooked up? where did you T it off or directly to what port on the intake manifold? make sure it’s hooked up AFTER the throttle body.

Also, I’m not too familiar with the Blitz BOV is it adjustable? it could be to loose cause a vacum leak!

it is hooked up properly i cant remember exactly where the vacuum line is coming from but it directly fromt the throttle body. yes it is adjustable, it does the same thing no matter how i adjust it. and it is sealed properly no leaks at all.

do not hook it up at the throttlebody. Has to be after.

yeah it is its coming fromt he big nipple right above the throttle body on the intake. its always been hooked up there ever sinse i got the motor 3 years ago.

anything else i should check.

here is a video if it would help.

when i unplug the idle air control valve im able to adjust it perfectly.
