sr timing chain question

hey
for a s13 sr20
got a question about my timing chain hitting the guide at the top inbetween the 2 cam sprockets. i just replaced the head gasket on my car and when i spin my crank with a ratchet the chain sometimes jumps a little at the top and hits the guide when i let go of the ratchet… i can see the chain tensioner go in a little too when this happens…

is this normal? i cant remember it doing this before maybe it did…

please help, absolutely no idea why its doing that

theres a tightening sequence for when you put the valve cover on, did you do it in order? Iuno just a wild guess.

recall mine doing that as well every couple cranks with the ratchet on the crank and im going strong smooth as butter to this day.

here, theres a write-up for everything on there.
Hope it helps.

Every belt/chain needs a little give.

Tensioner?

tensioner is on and working good… i may go with devo and just start it up and see what happens…
