I just bought another SR20 from speedtech put it in my car and i had no issues with it for about 500kms or so. I traded my car to a buddy and i get a call from him later that night and he says its ticking. So i went down there and had a look at it and its the valves or lifters or whatever you call them.
Any idea why this would randomly start happening? What would make this happen?

You sure its the lifters and not the guides?
guides are more of a clacking noise, SR is a generally noisy engine, sure its not the injectors?
dirty oil? I know in my sr it hadn’t been ran in what was probably years and after 200 kms it looked like crap. Possibly swap up to a lighter weight oil.
and make shure the 4 nuts that hold your fan is on tight …mine was loose and it was ticking so bad.
a bit or oil starvation? Like was said before that old oil :S is this engine from japan?
