other than the ones i mentioned there is nothing to extend
right…
because going from an L28 to a SR is a downgrade
Even a NA SR produces more power than a L28 ,is lighter to boot, and locates the entire engine behind the front axle line.
im not positive on this, but if i recall, u can get an rb20det for around 1500 bucks or an rb25det for around 2-2.5k
my point is, if ur gonna do a 280z, just pony up for the 6 cyl. engine, the cost wont be that much different
ill have to do more research thanks for the heads up orginialism. what ca and sr projects have you done?
Well if it is all about “poning up” w/ 6 cylinders then why not get an F54 block, diesel Maxima crank, and build a 3.1l monster?
nice what do you have the ca in?
for me it depends on three things:
1- cost: my main case for saying that u should go rb over sr with that car, is that its gonna cost around the same
2- difficulty: ive never tore a motor down to internals, im sure its not THAT hard, but i would have to learn that as i go.
3- parts: i wouldnt know how to go about finding parts for it
so to awnser ur question “why not?”, it depends on those things above. but i can tell ur just being a dick.
why not vg30dett?
why not vq35?
why not chevy v8 swap?
my point is rb>sr
nice. i always liked the coupe’s. i would love to have a 2 tone coupe with a s14 kouki front end.
the kouki front end is hot but if your gona go two tone go with the s13 silvia front end with triple projectors
ya. either or are sexy. i was going to do a kouki front end on my car when i wrecked it but i just ended up going back to zenki. i got jdm zenki front bumper, headlights, lip, and grille. that with a cf hood imo will be pretty good lookin.
www.240sx.org all the info you’ll ever need
well if you need any help or have any questions about sr swaps…let me know cause ive done them twice from scratch…
lol in the past few days it seems like the number of 240sx enthusiasts on nyspeed has grown exponentially
Well of course, 240s are the best, cheap to tune, easy to find. Oh and for the 280z if you are going to do a swap, the only swap worth putting in it is a nice chevy 350 and run about a 12 second 1/4.
putting an american made motor into an import is a crime.
unless its an ls1 fd swap cause rotories suck
muahahahaha american muscle FTW…did anyone see the s13 they swapped an LS1 into it for the PINKS show on SPEED channel?
