that same thing happened to my 240. turned out there was air in the system and not enough coolant :anal
Agreed. I had air in mine which I presume would sit up against the thermostat preventing it from opening until I shut the car off and let the system settle.
Everytime I would shut it off for a couple minutes it would drop in temperature then slowely rise until I shut her down again…
In any case, check to see if you have leaks. Bleed it… Fix it 
hey update after 2 months… i installed another sr20det rad from japan…put the strout on …bled it…changed thermstate…put new coolent…averything was fine fo about montrhs…now it has returned …and now its even more pissed…gets hot after less then 1 hour now. anyone think its the sensor?
Check all of your coolant lines, especially the ones running behind the engine.
