Parents really need to talk to their kids more about this. It’s just like Way2Slow said, how many of us have gone 120mph on a street? How many of us do it weekly?

It’s part of growing up. No amount of talking with your kid is going to change the fact that they think they’re much better drivers than they are. Parents need to think about that when they’re helping their kid get that first car (by either buying it, cosigning for it, or allowing the kid to put it on the parent’s insurance to save money).

I know that I have done many a dumb fucking things with cars when I was a kid. My parent’s didn’t enable me to do so, but the adults in my life taught me to cool it down a little bit. A couple of em “taught me to drive” a little better in hopes that I wouldn’t end up like this thread.
