SRT-4 vs. M3

i think he mentioned it… but i’m wondering the same thing

did he keep his foot planted on the petal when he was doing it

I asked him if he was on it, and he said no. I gave him my IM name, when he contacts me, I’ll be sure to send him over.

I think so? It didn’t feel like he let off.

from what i hear u have to keep it on the pedal …i dunno…maybe it isnt that fast…ud know more you road in it

No, I agree with you, every review of it that I’ve seen says there’s no way a human can shift faster than it, but to me, it just didn’t feel that great. I would love to take a standard 6 spd for a spin though! BMWs just have such a good feel to them, it’s a shame to ruin such a good car by getting rid of the 3rd pedal.

When I graduate, depending on the cash I’m making, it’s going to be a tough decision for me between M3, Evo, Sti, or Cobra.

yeah all 4 of thos cars are very awesome

Carrera GT for me…

PUH! :dreaming:

well since my neon beats weaves neon, my neon must be TeH FA5T3ST
eAVr!!!

Hahahaha, Let’s run again w/o me having a few extra hundred pounds of passengers and assorted crap in my car!

ricerexcure ^

i thought urs was mostly stock? there is no way it would beat weaves’ if so

Well you have to expect a ricer excuse, we were roll racing. Anytime he wants to run me at the track, I’d be happy to oblige.

The fastest and most aggressive mode is S6…and SMG II, which is found in the e46 M3, is different than the SMG in any other BMW…it shifts faster, is more aggressive and also has more modes to choose from…12.

I still have yet to drive a SMG M3 but have spent a considerable amount of time in the passenger seat of a SMG M3 at BeaveRun and Nelson Ledges. For the track, it’s awesome. It shifts and downshifts (while matching revs perfectly) faster than anyone could do with a traditional manual…it is capable of shifting gears in 80 milliseconds…to compare - a Ferarri 360 F1 takes twice as long to shift.

With that said, I prefer to have a traditional 6 speed…SMG is not as friendly for daily driving…For example, you can’t feather the throttle like you can with a reg. manual…which makes backing up in a delicate manner next to impossible.
