good luck. be sure to post the results.
170? are you kidding? my car with all the shit on it probably doesn’t make 180 at the wheels
GTPs which are rated at 240crank make about 190, 170 would mean that you are around 200-210 crank
ehhh, whatever, Maybe the NA cobalts are as underrated as the SC ones :dunno:
edit - and if you are right about your car
you will blow the doors off mine
i doubt 170…espically with the auto tranny…that sucks a lot of HP.
i’m gonna guess 155-160 tops…but i think 140-155 is more practical
5$ on 125whp
Where’s the auctal supercharger???
That engine bay is like EMPTY!
that wouldn’t suprise me either…i jsut didn’t want to depress him too much
its the SS non-supercharged version
2.4L N/A 171hp & 160something tq
I don’t have stickers.
neither do i… shhhhhhhhh
I’m still legal…
well then i would have to take my car in for warranty work if thats the case since a base cobalt with intake and exhaust makes 140 whp, and i have 30-40 more hp then they do… :burnout:
i will post my dyno numbers when i get them and my 1/4 mile times as well
well im not sure how much hp you are expecting me to lose but the coablts ive seen have been losing about 23 hp to the wheels and stock they say im at 171 which is supposedly underrated plus i have intake and exhaust which gains huge on cobalts compared to cars like the celica that get 5 hp off an intake
That’s crank HP, not wheel. Two friends dyno’d their 2.2s, 127 w/manual, 119 w/auto. The 2.4 should be around 140-150 whp unless it’s underrated like the 2.0 but I DOUBT it is since it fell under the new SAE standards.
you are lucky
well the 2.4 is still un explored to know for sure but with my mods i think 170 or close to it is possible, i may be wrong but thats why im going to go and find out for sure so i can quit speculating and get real numbers, also were those 2.2 in the cavy or in the cobalts cuz that would make a difference
manual powertrain loss is like average 15%-20%
auto is 20%-30%
so i doubt your mods (short ram intake & exhaust) are gonna give you 35-45hp at the wheels
well from what alley cat posted about the 2.2 cobalt that was only about a 15% loss for the automatic transmission, so if im making 190 at the engine minus 15% then it may be around 162whp possibly
kids these days have no concept of HP.
