ss dragon's car

How about me? :naughty:

I should be well over 300, don’t ya think?

well, since you all say im crazy i guess we just wait till the dyno happens to see whos crazy

The dyno always disappoints people who have high expectations.

I’d expect your car to have 140whp on a dynojet.

:burnout: Looks nice man and also on the whole dyno issue. Its all good to have high hopes and all but i think you should also think realistically. The only mods you’ve are cai and exhaust which def help but dont make a world of a difference. Its not a turbo’d car were nice gains come from simple bolt ons. I wish you the best though and hope the numbers are close to what your guessing. :burnout:

eh 17 seconds in a gts thats terrible…

Cobalts, and it was 111whp with the auto not 119 like I posted before, I asked the kid again about it cause I wasn’t positive (done on a dynojet, so those numbers are probably slightly inflated). According the posts on the SS boards, people are seeing about 7whp from the exhausts and about 10whp from the intakes. Strickly on paper assuming a conservative 20% or so drivetrain loss you’re probably between 160-165whp tops, but get it to the dyno and see what you’re putting down.

165whp? i dont know about that… with 165whp on my neon i’ll be running mid 14’s low 14’s… im guessing i have around 145whp… but just a guess

NA?? Your kidding? 171bhp & 16X tq isnt THAT bad.
But it would be funner to have the S/C. Have you replaced the pulleys or dont they make any new ones?

???

he doesn’t have a S/C

those #'s are for the 2.4L N/A SS model.

there are SS supercharged & regualr SS’s

the base 2.2 with intake and exhaust dynoed 140whp on redline tv, my engine is more powerful i will definately have more than 140whp

i agree, the auto gt-s is a horribly designed car, given it was a 94 degree day that day but still i would think a car like that could run bettr than 17.8

id be happy with 160 and still room for tuning when an ecu comes out for us

no, gm did a good job designing this car and it has a ton of potential once it gets fully supported by the aftermarket, main thing holding us back is no tuning ability yet, also no one makes pulleys for us yet but im not sure if they will at all since , we have electric steering so no pulley taking energy off the eninge there, and an internal water pump they may make an alternator pulley and crank pulley but ill never put a crank pulley on my car due to the negative effects and im still debating the alternator pulley since these cars dont have a strong electrical system as it is

so how much does a cobalt weigh?

edit - and what’s the cr on the 2.4

Whats the joke here? Do you really think that a Intake pipe and a catback exhaust are going to give you huge horse power gains? Yeah Yeah, I know Burt and Erine dynoed an extra 90Hp on sesame street.tuners.org or where ever it was that you get this info. But, MOST people that are out buying (not trying to sterotype) cobalts, focus’s ect and trying to build race cars havent been around cars to long. Dont trust everything you read on the internet. I doubt many of these people are really out dynoing these cars like they say they are. Just because someone says that made 50hp of this mod doesnt mean its true.

i wouldnt say definately yet…

yeah man, you’ve gotta be careful about what other people are saying you should dyno. A ton of guys told me I should be over 200 wheel but they all got set straight when a vendor came in and said most NA GPs that are cammed don’t dyno 200.

In all reality, I don’t care who you are, an intake and exhaust will rarely ever get you 10 at the wheel. Vendor claims are bullshit.

question…ssdragon how old are you?

Right, and AEM dynoed one at 125whp for a 4whp gain with their intake system.

I would guess 22 :dunno:
