Witnessed: 350Z > Cobalt SS *Rape Scene*

So, Im on XXX tonight near XXX, and I see a black Cobalt SS lined up with a black/dark colored (what looked like) a 350Z in the opposite lane…

The light turned, I hear the tires squeeling…the 350Z shot out of the hole like a rocket immediately pulling busses…

Meanwhile…

The Cobalt SS tried…he really did…all you could hear was the supercharger whining on and off about 8 times…I heard a mis-shift or 2, a major bog down and before you knew it, it fell flat on its face…and it wasnt even through the intersection yet!! LOL.

He then picked it back up and proceeded…by that time, the 350Z had to be blocks away lol.

Not the greatest story, but i couldnt help but chuckle at the poor driving skills of the Cobalt SS…Though…even if the skills were there, I dont think he had a snowballs chance in hell…that 350Z seemed quick as hell from where I was sitting…

Not taking anything away from the 350Z, because watching a blowout every once in a while is always entertaining, but aren’t Cobalt SS’s only like mid 15 second cars?

Only the n/a ones. A stock SS/SC should be a mid to low 14. Usually mid though.

oh, dont get me wrong (see my original post)…he would have been raped either way…what was funny is how hard he was trying and it got him nowhere faster than if he actually knew how to drive. I would have loved to have been on the other side of him so see how hard he was concentrating lol.
hearing the s/c whine and the car bog about 8 times like he pegged the rev limiter was definately a sound worth hearing…

cough bullshit cough - just like it’s super easy to get a DSM to run 10s right, all you need is a boost controller… or a crx into the 11s - junkyard turbo and turn some rusty iron part upside down and blah blah blah… building a fast car takes money and talent, and going 2 seconds faster in the 1/4 is never “easy.”

first off, your “10 second dsm” arguement is flawed, as were the arguments that followed it, unless those cars stock ran 1 sec slower in the 1/4 mile then the times u stated, because i was only talking about knocking 1 second off the cobalts time

The 1st time Mike took the new era one to NYI, it wasnt even broken in with like 1XX miles on it and the 15day inspection lol. Ran a 14.370 @ 97.65.

I wish it stayed stock longer (like a week I put the K&N intake) becuse he really sucks at lauching FWD:P More seat time deff. could have gotten better.

I did some of the snky GTP free mods, re wiring some things, and improveing then IC system from heat soak. With a 2.8, header,catback,42.5 inj. K&N typhoon intake, Mikes tuneing. On 93 pump,no weight redution,stock tires. It ran that 13.5 @106.6 time slip I think thats the fastest car so far for a 2.8 witch isn’t even really that small. The cars faster now still on the 2.8 pully, and the 2.5 might be going on soon.

Not to start another retarded drama, but what do you drive that is SOOO much better??? The overall quality of the car isn’t too shabby for a 18-22k car. Also that kid with the black one just has an AEM intake, so he shouldn’t keep up with a Z. SS/SC aren’t really that bad of a car, I would just like to know why people hate them so much??
