Im almost done my swap, right now I am sitting on the fence with either running the car stock with the GT2871 turbo and the VSPL FMIC and if everything is okay then install the SAFC and the ACV-R with the 550cc injectors…or… Install everything except the SAFC II, the ACV-R and the 550 cc injecttors and wait for a few month’s save up some money sell the SAFC II and ACV-R and get a nice stand alone system?
What are your thoughts? Input from those who have stand alone systems would be great.
If you haven’t run the motor yet on the road, i would suggest running it
stock. Stock everything (ecu, injectors, boost, etc.) with upgraded turbo
is fine as well. At least then you can get your SS lines in place and such.
Do about a month (or 500-1000km or so) of driving to get the feel of
things and then start swapping it all in.
When building up an engine it is wise to do one thing at a time. This way if you run into problems then you know there is a good chance it is what ever ypu installed causing them.
If you put five dif things on at once and you run into problem then you have 5 different add on’s that could be causing your problem.
My sugestion would be to get the car runing on stock injectors and ecu but don’t drive it, just get it to idle well during cold starts and when it is warm. After it runs well at idle then do the injectors and SAFC, then get it tuned to run well befor you do the AVCR.
Just because things are new does not always mean they can not be defective and changing everything at once could cause big head ache.
Adding a stand alone onto a car you don’t kow runs well could be tuning a nightmare.
