Started Working on the house

undertook my first project of the new house… took me about 3-4 days total to get this done working about 4-5 hours a day after work/between dealing with the puppies.

Replaced all the floors in the living room/dining area with Hand scraped Brazilian Cherry Laminate Flooring.

Before pictures during Open house.

Looks great, but expect to be cleaning it constantly.

My neighbor put in dark wood like that in his kitchen about a year ago and they’re replacing it soon. He loves the look but every little spec of dirt/dust shows up like it’s under a magnifying glass.

looks nice, I would of stripped that wallpaper in the kitchen first though. I hate wallpaper

thats an odd fireplace insert.

Looks nice.

Are you going to replace all of that base molding with something different? Maybe something stained to match or white.

looks good

werd.

i think this is what anonymity was planning on doing as well. how funny.

wiring at its finest

Looks Good.

i like it

you can tell you dont have lil kids

i love the floor color.

I should have done that. It was hard work watching my wife tile the kitchen floor.

(Yeah, my wife did most of the work. I did the cement board and grunt work. She mixed the mortar, set the tiles, grouted…)

Im replacing all of the moulding with new white stuff… the walls are being repainted with color soon, now that the floors are done, im gonna pick a color a bunch had to come off during installation of the floors, and it cracked, so im gonna redo the entire room

Wallpaper in the kitchen is LONG gone… took about 2 weeks to get it ALL off… the previous home owners loved the stuff… it was 2 layers deep.

The kitchen has been overhauled as well, ill have pictures up next weekend after paint is done

TV is mounted to the wall with all of the wires hidden, and the DTV box/all AV boxes in the basement on a rack mount i built and im using an IR repeater

nice work!

How’d you train a woman to do that?

Mine helps me pick the paint and sometimes put it on the walls.
Thankfully I’m 99% done with my entire house, all except for finishing my garage interior

On topic - Nice work

looks good, it took me nine months to finish hiding all my wires for my tv over my fireplace.

yep… with teh dog hair, ive had to sweep the floor every 1 or 2 days to keep it clean

looks great, wood floors for dogs is a must imo… only way to not secretly have dog hair all over the place.

carpeting and dogs = fail.

wood floors plus 90# dog = hand scraped, as it were. :\ even trimming them once a week

Mine picks the paint, then paints. I can paint pretty well without masking anything, so I take care of the detailed shit. Otherwise its all her.

If I was home I’d post a pic of her hanging drywall in a bikini. One of my favorite pics. Well, no I wouldn’t post it.

The best part was that I got to pawn off all the drywall mudding on her too. I effing hate drywall. She said she wanted to try so I handed her the knife, explained the basics, and walked away. Came out pretty good.
