state of GM

Camry is replaced next year though.

and I’d say we should hold off on accolades or criticisms about the Fusion until it’s been out more than a few months. I know it’s mostly Mazda6, but still.

and I’m not convinced the Cobalt is better than the Civic. It’s on the same platform as the Ion. Although I know they improved shit from the abyssmal Ion…

Fusion, Milano, Zehyr, and 6… all good cars

OK, I’m not taking sides on foreign or domestic, onwed many VW and many GM’s, own one of each now! sorry but the problem I see is GM getting screwed by the UAW (union) because now that GM is suffering, do you think the union will accept them to cut their wages/pensions back, no…just look at USAir, same bullschitt! Funny how most jobs will be cut in 2007, when GM’s contract is up with UAW! So do I feel bad for them losing their jobs, NO. Cause they make way to much money for the minimum wage job they do. Just like the over paid city parking lot attendents, the turnpike tellers, the PAT workers, list goes on and on… The old American big time companies need to get the hint, unions are out! look at Toyota (built in america), Walmart, etc. So when the big mans fat everyones fat, but when the big man starts to starve the little people want to stay fat!

fixed… and yeah… being predominantly Japanese cars, they are all pretty good.

but built here

well put

now as far as high performance cars… the japanese aint got shit on the americans

hahaha c’mon lets keep it on GM plz

it is on GM… what do the japs have that can compare to what GM has? not much

:boink

Unions are for the unskilled worker to remain protected…

there isnt any hope in arguing with you. youre reasoning is one reason why american car sales are down. go buy a part for one of those jap junks then buy apart for american car. american part is cheaper

you will never prove to me that jap cars are a better quality and if you cant have pride in your country then why are you here?

japs support thier cars why? you ever see a solid jap family marry outside their own? NO you dont, but you see dumb americans like yourself that woudl consider it

get in your jap ride and ill find a G body and we do demoderby i garrenty i walk away with less damage then that cracker jack of a car of yours

with this my dad is retiring

so your saying a computer geek should get paid more then the hard working construction/labor person? im wagering that majority of ppl on here couldnt even do the work of one of us. and dont say its based on intelligence cause alot of us in this field use it for designing and etc of the layout. why would you work at walmart with low wage when you can get a job in plant that takes skill and actually be proud of your job.

i worked for a large company and we got kick backs when we did good. i took pride in that company and still have some bragging about working there. if more ppl were like that then alot of ppl wouldnt be job less but then you get ppl that are only 8 hr a day ppl. have no pride in the job and they just dont care like most comp geeks… how can you really take pride in something if you didnt do it with your hands

i hear you on that one Eric. my dad seen the wave coming at his company and retired when he was able to. he sure didnt want to. anyone that met him knew he loved working there but he seen the wave coming and got out of dodge. hopefully your dad doesnt get teh shaft like some will

i have to say your somewhat right on that. my company is a nonunion company and we done Walgreens. the Local5 protests that store cause we are nonunion. funny is these ppl are there from 10am to 2pm. if they would put that much effort into finding work then they would have ajob but no they are lazy fucks who think they are better then a noneunion worker. ill say this as i said it to them. if one wants to go toe to toe with me and my knowledge/electrical work then im up for it. if he cant out do my work/knowledge then he doesnt deserve his wages!!! i told my boss that also refering to how i said that to one of them in front of walgreens

I agree wages should be based on skill, but most factory work doesn’t require skill, trust me I worked at TRACO building windows for pennies! Now some jobs need unions, teachers, constuction, miners, plummers (I know a guy that is a union plummer) but a skill would help to go with your union, not teamsters and all the other unions that don’t do schitt and have jobs that a 16 year old kid could learn in a day…

if more people in the UAW had your oppinion i don’t think GM would be in any trouble at all. It’s probalby really hard to turn a profit and make a quality product when your employees are sucking you dry.

what electrician do you work for btw?

i worked at Traco and got paid very well for that point in time. i was actually higher paid then others that been there longer. i had a degree plus some experience.

if you were on the labor lines they paid you in Levels 1,2,3,4, and 5 i was a 5. i think 1 was about 8 bucks and hour. that isnt bad wage for someone to start out at not knowing anything.

no we’re wagering 10 mexicans could do the same work for a tenth of the cost

well put. paid for skill
