STi modding on hold... need some "prayers" for wifey

OUCH!

They say shes not gunna have feeling in that thumb anymore? there has to be nerve damage.

Somehow the bite went completely around the tendon (had to have pretty much flossed my dog’s teeth because it was completely open all around the tendon). And miraculously she has feeling in the tip of her thumb, can wiggle it, and the color is still good. Everyone, including the original ER nurse thought for sure she was going to lose the tip of her thumb.

They did say that it could take months or it could take years and years until she regains 100% feeling in her thumb (without any numbness)

Well thats good now to just get past the infection.

After looking at the picture somemore i would have passed out for sure. fuck that haha

holy crap, this sucks. i hope kyra recovers fine, as she always does but she has some pretty awful luck.

Good luck with everything!

DAMN. Dogs freak me the fuck out man. I never liked them for some reason. They are mans best friend, but still and animal with instincts.

I am sorry to hear about this Kenny. I wish your wife the very best.

Wow, Good luck to her.

Sorry to hear, I hope she makes a swift recovery!

good luck bud. Hope she is alright.

Good luck to the both of you, sir!

best of luck to you and the wife

FUCK. So sorry to hear Kenny.

If you guys need anything, or help with anything financially for the time being don’t hesitate to reach out.

We should be ok financially. We’re both fairly good with money and I’ve made sure that we haven’t over-extended ourselves in case this were to ever happen (be down to just a single paycheck). I’m very organized when it comes to banking and I have everything planned out for the next 2 months and we are in good shape as of right now. I just gotta hold off on STi parts and put my OT money from this week aside as a buffer. Thank you though.

I hope everything goes well for her. Things like this can happen with any animal and pretty much any dog can cause that kind of damage. Some people might think it’s “dumb” to intervene in a situation like that, but I would have still done the same thing. I bet the dog lifted as soon as it realized it and felt like shit about it.

Anyway, I wish you both well.

Yea, she immediately stopped in her tracks, hit ground, and just started shaking. I wasn’t home at the time but Drew was here and he said that she was shaking worse than he had ever seen. And she still hasn’t quite recovered from it all. I don’t blame her at all… she was being protective and at that point any touch to a dog is seen as an attack and she reacted to it. Sadly it was my wife and she didn’t realize that til it was too late. Hopefully everything will work out well but we are both thinking that surgery is almost guaranteed… but we are glad they are being so aggressive on the treatment of it because with the thumb being plyable right now, as long as the infection doesn’t get too bad, she will eventually regain full use and feeling.

Well today’s news is good (not great, but still good). The infection has started to clear so for the moment surgery is not needed. She has another appointment Friday so they can check on it again and keep on it. The not great news is that because of everything with it, she is out of work until it is 100% closed up and healed… which could be another few weeks. And she is no where near out of the water yet… but its better than it was Monday. Thanks for the prayers guys (and gals)!

prayers continued!

Hey everyone, this is the “wifey”, just found out about this thread today but wanted to get on and say thank you for all your kind thoughts and prayers. it really means a lot!! i see Kenny is doing a great job at keeping everyone updated, and if you want there are more pictures, but i will leave it up to kenny to post them (only if you want them).
