Stuffing a front mount onto my 05 STi - done!

Exhaust is done, car is fully tuned with the fmic. Its great!

And to anyone who said it lags more, well, not by any significant ammount . From a 2500 rpm roll, we had 19.5 psi at 3200 rpm. From a 4.5k roll, its near instant. You should see the heat difference too. I did 5 pulls last night, then pulled into a parking lot and let the car sit for about 2 minutes, while running, with my hood closed. I then turned off my car, poped the hood ,and felt the hot side pipe. It was hot enough to burn you. I then felt the cold side pipe, right at the TB, and it was cold as ice

So, yup, it works!

Sounds like it rips now  sadly you took off before visiting, damn you

Looks good. Nice write up

Thanks guys. I also didnt mention, but I purchased the factory STi fog covers, and put those on. It looks much better, in my opinion. Now, I am tracking down some of the factory badging. Particularly, I want to get the front grill STi badge, and the trunk STi and WRX badges. That leaves the S U B A R U badging on the trunk off, but if I got a great deal on it, i’d put that on too.

Nice, thanks guys. Here is the exhaust we did:

The old downpipe, nice, but too small for me:

And here’s the cat we got rid of:

Here’s a shot of the inside:

And Another:

So we threw the car u on mikes awesome lift:

And put this guy on there, Perrin 3" catless downpipe:

It has a nice separated wastegate pipe:

And its not bad looking:

We decided to mate this up with my 2.75" catback:

Luckily, the flanges matched up great:

We just used 2 gaskets, to give us a little bit of room in there:

After adding some new hardware, it doesnt leak at all, and fits perfect!:

Thanks again mike, for everything!

Looks titties.

You werent by chance in tonawanda today on military were ya? If it wasnt you somebody else has a FMIC with missing fog lights and a nice exhaust. If it was you, looks and sounds great

Nope, not me. I got my STi foglight covers back on now. I’ve been at work all day today :nite:

man you got a double. Same color as well.

its rrsti

Yeah, he has a great car!

Hey man, good job- looks real clean. Nice that you were able to take your time with it. ^^ what gear are you in w/ full boost at 3200rpm? My car is Cobb Stage 2 and full boost in 5th is about 2900. If same, your lag isn’t too bad at all.

I still don’t understand why all these kits have the cold side pipe run over the turbo. I realize it can be delt with, but it still bugs me.

Any chance you got your TMIC laying around still?

I do have a stock STi TMIC laying around. I wanted to hang onto it, but we could work something out. PM me if you like.

hmm alrighty. my stock IC I painted black awhile back and it really looks like shit now… so I’m thinking I mine as well get the STi one before I go for a tune. I’ll shoot you a PM when it gets closer to that point (should be pretty soon).

sucks you have to work outside

He makes 18-19 psi by 3200 in 4th. Of course it’s definitely lower than that in 5th…
