Ok, i don’t know if this is the right forum to ask but… I just got my first speeding ticket…
I really don’t want to pay it so i’d like to fight it, but i’ve never done it before. Is there anyone who knows what to say or ask to get it dropped? One of my friends said to ask for full disclosure. This creates a hell of alot of work for everyone so they usually drop it. is this true? anyways… any info would be great… thanks!
what if you got a speeding ticket and the cop let another ticket slide but the speeding ticket remained… would you be able to bring that up in court to your advantage some how?
I doubt it, but the cop wouldn’t be able to give you the other ticket after the fact. So if he’s threatening that he’ll give you both tickets if you go to court, that’s BS.
Well my ticket is for doing 110 in an 80 zone. What are the chances of this getting dropped? I’d pay the ticket… I just don’t want my insurance goin up. Any suggestions?
Just plead guilty to 15 over. No points, and only $50. You should have no trouble getting it down from 30 over. Just talk to the justice of the peace before hand.
Even if it’s just 15 over and you lose no points your insurance still goes up.[/quote]
it depends on the insurance company. Some let the first ticket you get slide… kind of looking the other way, giving you a second chance… It all depends on the company and also what your rating is at that company… i.e. how many “stars” you have. Basically 6-9 stars means you had no accident for the past 6+ years, no claims, no anything… and that’s when you they can let your first ticket go…
But like I said, it all depends on the company and their policies…
Read the website that DFJ posted. Don’t give in to anything, even the smallest ticket can be an excuse for a butt-raping from ur insco. Read the ENTIRE site, and you’ll see what I mean, if you make yourself enough of a nuisance for them, they’ll let it go.
I heard that it’s only the point that make your insurance go up. I’ll pay the ticket… i just don’t want my insurance to go up. Do you guys thing those X-coppers or those people who fight the ticket are worth it? has anyone tried using them?
