Because im not all knowlegeable and especially in the area of german cars, and when someone laughs at a simple lack of knowlege when im clearly not stating that i know it all, is rude in the first place.
if given all the information in a NON sarcastic tone i can take into concideration and relay the information to her so she can make the decision on her own.
Thank you to all for the input, as i have learned some as for the upkeep of certain vehicles, and cons and pros.
If anyone else has anyhing to add without laughing at my lack of complete knowledge you are more than welcome to add.
ps. pretty much all i know is nissans, and some hondas, but my specialty is 240’s. so please don’t be harsh in my quest for help in this situation.
Well I am not going to defend him but he is still giving some solid advice… elitist or not. We both have M cars and I will say that the amount I love mine I would not let maintenance scare you away ESPECIALLY if you can do the work yourself. I mean shit I addressed almost every known issue on my M5 this year because I plan to keep it for a few years and I spent maybe 2.5k and that was a ton of upgraded parts.

A person bitching about the costs of maintenance of a domestic should never even consider looking at any of the german halo cars… That was my point.
I’m considering picking up an e36 m3 4 door when most of the shit from my m3 coupe sells. the e36 doesn’t seem too crazy to maintain cost wise, it’s a bit on the tame side. sc’ed s52 would be nice if she wants power.
id say OBD-1 (so you can run aftermarket engine management) e36 328 with a turbo setup would be pretty cool. get a clean southern car and not deal with the hassles of the M specific stuff.
fixed. nobody was bitching i was stating oem cost of domestic, not fully knowing the cost of said bmw cars. but thank you i am aware of your point and i fully agree. Like i said giving her all the options and forethought possible will aid in the proper decision.
Skipped over most of the noise in this thread. I personally looked at the G35 and Tiburon and liked both of them. I am partial to Coupes and these really fit what I was looking for. They are both a little out of that 15K price range depending on what you get/want but it is not impossible to find a great deal if not looking BRAND new. I was looking at the V6-6 Spd GT for both. I liked them.
