Heres what happened… We went to P-Mall on Sunday in the GTR ,shes been running great ever since we got her just had a minor boost leak but got that fixed. Anyway,parked in the parking lot for a bit when we had to leave she just wouldn’t reverse so we had to push her out …Ive never seen this before any suggestions as to what it can be?
What happened when you tried to put it in reverse? The car wouldn’t go in gear?
Did you try shutting the car off and seeing if it would go into gear?
it just wouldnt go into reverse …tired sutting it off and nothing happend…
Did you try rolling the car into gear.
With the car off, one of your friends push the car SLOWLY while you apply pressure onto the lever to go into reverse. Not too much pressure.
There’s no Syncros on the Reverse gear so that removes that problem of the Syncros. I doubt a gear is damaged and the R32/Z32 trannys are pretty simple inside.
When was the last time the Reverse was used? Was there any hard driving between the last Reverse use and the time you noticed it doesn’t work?
You mentioned P-Mall with and reference to “we”
To most that will mean a showoff which involves hard pulls. Especially at Pmall with a GTR.
the last time the reverse gear was used was sunday afternoon …no there was no hard driving…the GTR is babied…and showing off is not my style, I have to much respect for Skylines to try to show off especially at P mall. we did try what you suggested …I just cant think of anything else…
Sorry forgot to mention that you should push in the clutch while you’re rolling it into gear. And try rolling the car in reverse rather than forward.
If that fails then you’ll probably have to drop the transmission to find out whats going on, unless it has something to do with the AWD. I’m not sure.
