Any help. I found a kit from vortec but they want a little over 5 grand for the hi out put system. This is for my friend and he is in high school so not a ton of money but he prob could come up with about 2500. Does anyone know of anywhere I could find a new or used one around that price.
Thanks. would also need install depending on how hard it is I have never done a supercharger myself so I cant really help him a ton.
You’re about to get yelled at. When you can’t afford something you can’t afford it.
your buddy is better off getting out of the V6 auto mustang.
Tell him to sell it and buy something else if he wants to go fast cheaply.
to supercharge a mustang for <$2500 on a budget build where you know what you need to put it together would be a task in itself and since you and your friend dont know whats involved that is very unlikely that he could supercharge his car for that price especially after you factor in tuning etc
Its not going to work and you will be even poorer than when you started. Pick up an ls1 fbod and be faster than this car would be.
You also spelled solution wrong.
Don’t bother with it, it’ll be a waste of money.
Tell him to buy a project fox body? For 2500 you could easily pick up a running one, and have a decent base to start building on.
Just buy that $5k ls1 firebird that’s in classifieds
start browsing stang forums. GL. do a shot of juice and call it a day
Don’t
I wouldn’t recommend supercharging a V6 Auto. The transmission is too weak for any power increases, the fuel supply is not adequate (will need a larger pump, injectors, etc). He’s better off changing vehicles or being happy with what he has. To answer your question specifically… no, I don’t know of anywhere to get a used supercharger for that price. You can check on www.modularfords.com in their classified section for power adders but I doubt you’ll find anything. Good luck.
really, dont
Tell him to save his money and play baller after he is out of high school
and gets a real job. I know I wasted so much money on car parts in school when I should have been saving.
Only solution is to save money and sell the v6 mustang and buy something not lame.
If he’s in HS, wouldn’t he get more mileage out of telling everyone it has N20?
You could supercharge it, or turbo charge it… but why? It’s like turbocharging a cavalier. You could, but at the end of the day, all you did was ruin it sooner than later.
LOL^^
but seriously, theres someone on here named mike i believe that went to ST Joes with me, he S/C’d his v6 stang, idk if it was auto though
V8 mustangs are so cheap just do that if you really want a quicker mustang. Modding a V6 when there is a V8 available is not going to be cost effective.
crash it into a tree and collect insurance
