We moved our corporate office this weekend so I have no desk, just a chair so far. I received a phone call this morning and put my phone down on the window sill where 2 guys were building my department’s cubes. I left work and then came back when I realized that I forgot to take my cell phone. I go back to work only to find that it was gone. My first thought is that the guys building our cubes are to blame since they seem like rather shady individuals. I call up VZW to get a lock put on my service. I ask (I have phone insurance) if insurance is going to cover it and the woman at VZW tells me to call a different number. I call the number, explain what happens and poof, she tells me I will have a new phone in a few days. Unfortunately, it’s back ordered but damn, $5.99 a month has saved my bacon!! As always, VZW employees I spoke with were cordial and extremely polite.
i dropped mine in the toilet the other weekend and did the same thing.
good to hear that, never had to use that service yet… but want to see my new/ used phone? skny?
i broke my phone
called to get a replacement
the told me the replacement for the lg6000 is the samsunga670
receive a670, it doent get any service in my house … AT ALL
call the vzw store , explain situation, ask if i can trade for lg6100 @ no cost
they say yes
i confirm that its going to be an even exchange, no charge no new plan
they confirm
make exchange at store
they sign me up for a new plan, never get my signature
verizon customer service claims they have my sig, never send me copy of “new contract”
cliff’s - verizon is shady when they feel like it
thats apparently fairly common
when i had that insurance, they charged me 50 deductible for a new phone. what the hell…
i haven’t really been liking VZW lately.
yea i had to pay $50 ded for the replacement
50 > 575
That is standard, and written up pretty clearly in the contract. $50 > $500
i was actuallt able to catch my phone…but leaving it in my unzipped jacket pocket while riding my sno-mobile is wat did my phone in…lost it, got a “new” used phone, told verizon what had happend, they activated the new phone for free…i guess its supposed to be 20$… so far so good with verizon, ive been with them almost a year, had sprint b4, they were HORRIBLE
its probably the way more than half of cell phones die.
hotrodkid: i would be willing to bet, if you got reception with the vx6000 in your house but nothing with the a670, that the a670 was a defective item sent out from lockline (it happens). verizon and lockline are two seperate companies.
now, the whole shit with the contract…well…thats unfortunate. thats also why you come see me. so this type of shit doesnt happen.
my familys house, despite being in west seneca, is in a horible spot for reception, everyone complains, its gts even worse when u walk INTO the house. if i had a PENNY for every time someone said “reception here sucks” …
teh a670 was fine everyplace else i went with it, even tho i only owned it for like 1/2 an hour
and as for the contract, oh well, they refused to fix it, and since i found out about it when my sister ran up a HUGE phone bill, i just told my dad to take till the end of the contract to pay the bill off. problem solved with creative thinking
unless you have a payment plan set up with CS, i would just be aware that if you have any part of a balance that is 30 days past due, they will in most cases shut your service off.
this is, however, what happens in most cases. depending on a few things, it might not.
yea, it got shut off, and it worked outthat they shut it off at the end of my original plan, and my dad took his time paying off the bill, so by the time it was paid off, we were at teh end of the fraudulant plan … worked for me
dad didnt have to rush to pay it off
verizon never got 8 months of payments for service i never actualy signed up for
only things im pissed about is that the store in question basicly got a a670 for free, because my 6100 was paid for by them signing me up for a new 2 year, and i also lost my phone # in the process
7254483 still gets WAY to many calls from people looking for me, lol
lol. damn that sounds like a bad situation. if u ever need any help in the future with VZW, you know who to contact
word. ill be going back to verizon when i have the $ topay a cell plan, and ill be bringing my LG-6100 with me, unless i decide to upgrade again. but i’ll definantly come to you next time
I have Sprint… I think it’s fine. I used to have T-Mobile … I got Sprint cuz they had nicer phones. The reception doesn’t seem to be too much better though. Probably gonna have to switch to Verizon when I go to college (Niagara) At first, Sprint messed up a few things on my bill but they were always really nice and would just credit me my money back
