Basically last year, i filed my taxes. Then after my dad told me he didnt claim me i amended. … So i never got a Tax stimulus… called up like 587843 times b4 getting an answer in september.
Reason: amended my tax return. Thats straight outta the horses mouth (IRS).
Q: Can i get it this year? The IRS guy said i have to fill out paperwork… and when i asked what i have to fill out, he hung up on me. Thank you US Government!

thats bs cause I amended my taxes last year too and I still got a stimulus check, they are lying. You should have no problem doing it, btw I use turbo tax every year and its way simpler, if anyone wants me to do ur taxes just let me know, I gaurantee it will be cheaper than going to h&r or jackson …and turbo tax is awesome with maximizing deductions, last yr I got back way more than any other year.
turbo tax is bullshit
depends on when you amended your return… if it wasn’t within a certain time frame you are fucked.
there may not even be a stimulus check this year, they might just give the states money instead of the peoples. if they give it out and you file on your own you will get one this year.

If you only have one job, one W2, and that’s it, freefile is the way to go, pick a company, they all do the same thing.
You’re on your own for state tax though.

I personally love turbo tax, and ya I have a kid so I get more, but my bf made the same last year and did his taxes through h+r and got back only 670 , I did it through turbo tax and got him 1100, just by maximizing his deductions, and they check it to before I submit it so I know its correct

While I’m not an expert, this is from my visit to HR Block a couple days ago. My son was born on 1/5/08, so I didn’t get a stimulus for him when that time came around. But, when I filed my taxes, they included it on my return. I say go to them and if you qualify, you should get it back on your return.
Just got my W2 today and I estimated my federal return, it only like $1700… Maybe I’ll try turbo tax this year. Actually, I’m SOL still, I never fixed my birthdate error (social security f’ed up a long time ago), and I can only file via paper. :bh::bh:
