Well I have a th d16 with about 35k on it I just want something to give me that extra push I don’t want to go big at all
i was thinking he had some fast return
just swap a ls into it
well, to be honest, if you have no clue what your doing, just go to a shop and tell them what you want to do, and fork over the cash to have the whole thing done professionaly. You can’t learn everything overnight.
Do you even know how a turbo system works and what all the components do?
/thread
How much $$$ do you have to play with?
Well I know how a turbo works I did that research.
I just want everything done right and without problems
Well from what my tax guy said around 2 grand
For those just tuning in, it’s a 97 Civic.
thats hmmmmmmm…i dunno… Its going to be hard to piece together a turbo kit and have a shop install it for that little bit of cash.
You might want to try and do it yourself.
Dont forget about tuning
why not save the $…
OBD2…Don’t boost it. Will never pass inspection without a pain in the dick. and I can only assume it’s your DD. Buy a beater eg or ef and learn how to boost that.
Why save it?
you can always buy that boosted honda d series thats for sale here on nys
or swap it with a 98 ls motor and still pass nys inpsection :gotme: you can get a motor and such for like 1500 and try and get someone to put it in for you for 500…2k you will never boost and still pass for that kinda money
Spend all the money on the biggest turbo you can get…
Stock fuel system should be fine…
Also from his intro thread, or cop thread, I forget, it’s not his DD. His DD is a Saturn.
Keep researching. Getting all parts and a professional installation and no problems for $2k seems like a bit of a pipe dream.
So many good ideas in here.
OP, remember most people in here are suggesting this stuff for good reason…We’ve all done this at one point or another, learn from our mistakes lol.
first thing is 2k will turn into needing 5k real quick
im guessing this is gonna be low boost? cause 2 grand will only build your bottom end…
