TDC - both cams positoin

so I have a 91 ka24de.

I was told that when I set the engine to TDC (top dead center)
the cams would point away from each other at 180 degrees… basically flat…

but I was checking mine… and they never seem to point at 180 degrees… they do point away… but slightly facing up. about 5-10 degrees…

I had that stupid timing guide noise… I took out the timing guides… one which was broken in half… loosened the top tensioner…

my question is…

could my timing have jumped off a bit for one of the cams? because my engine shakes alot at idle… and the fact that they aren’t facing away at 180 degrees at TDC…

What’s up ED
the chain and the gears should be marked,
I had to pretty much had to remove the head on my ka a while back, i order to get the right timing , I kept rotating the crank till all the gear/ chain marking were lined up.
Use the chain as a reference,
