Because the Gov’t does not Own it. it is owned by indipendant companys, mostly US and Overseas Companys.
So it is a company just like bing.ca,
Hey can I have a RUCA, but I do not want to pay for it, I pay Tax’s.
I am not getting in your face bingy and I do not agree with how expensive it is, I am just pointing out how it is just a company like all the other and we should pay to use there property.
So you know anything after 30 days also they can move you to a R2 (60days) or R3 (90 days) rating, that also does not look good on a credit report
or use the plate covers i have so they cant take a pic of your plates
no worries benson, i can handle a constuctive arguement.
i recommend renting the movie “the corporation”
watching that will explain my arguement better than i could.
steal from wal-mart
steal from Shell
disrespect all major corporations at every chance.
disrespect bing. :bootyshake:
well it appears i know more than you.
manatoba and pei do not get charged for 407…how do i know this? my girlfriend is from manitoba, has a MANATOBA plate on her car, drives on the 407 ALL the time and has never ONCE received a bill for it. Either at her current address or her parents address.[/quote]
Not to nit pick… but if you are going to rag on someone and say you know more than they do… you might want to spell MANITOBA right.
just heard on the news that the owners of the 407 took the Province to Court because their are 4000 outstands Bills which total to over 8 Million Dollars and the owners of the 407 won… so if you have un-paid 407 bills and you try to renew your license, or plates… they will not let you
so now the ontario government is trying to find a way around it and take them back to court
done and done jeff, ive renewed my licence and my plates both, unless it was after august that this happened…then im fucked
anyone wanna loan me $1200 bucks to pay my etr bill ???
intersting how the government loses more and more authority to corporations.
lets privatize healthcare everyone
yes as far as i know hector, this just happened not to long ago… i listen to the news daily each morning and havent heard anything about it until today…
my father actually has a rather large un-paid 407 bill too…
if everyone considers the 407 to be such a cash grab, why do you still use it? if you have a problem with paying to use the highway, then don’t take the ETR. boycotting would be a better idea than leaving outstanding bills. in the end, they’ll find a way to get their money and ruin your credit.
credit is overrated.
the better alternative is to just have all the money anyways…lol
The first million really is the hardest.
Why don’t you go to Dubai and get a palace and an Enzo lol?
well it appears i know more than you.

Manitoba and PEI also do not have reciprocity agreement with Ontario. That’s why the 407 can’t charge those plate owners; its because they can get the info from those governements.
Ontario and quite of few of the states have agreements where that if you speed, etc, in another state, the infraction notice finds its way to you, and if you dont pay, hey, look demerit points.
Its this system that allows the 407 to charge/bill out of province drivers as well.
Lucky is correct in that Manitoba (spelled correctly NiteRider) and PEI don’t have these agreements. However, BC does, and so does Quebec, and most of the other Maritime provinces. Don’t quote me, I’m just bringing some of this up from memory.
All of my family from the states have gotten bills, and relativley quick too.
Hope this helps.

i second that
great movie for anyone interested in this stuff
To answer the original question:
1 - bill you.
2 - collection agency
3 - legal action
4 - garneshed wages or amount withdrawn from your bank account if you lose.
I was at step 2.
Then i paid it. And they still send me bills for $0 cents.

Yeah…
Their collections agency is useless though. They call say you owe money to the 407 for invoice number XX, they don’t know how much you owe, they can’t send you an invoice, you have to contact the 407 for everything… and to think they get commission based on this…
if thats the case, what we need to do is start a collection agency.
Just showed a little clip about it on Global 5:30pm news.
They stated you have approx 3 mnths to pay ur bills - then they start the licence suspension “process” (not sure what the process intitles… maybe some collection agency action)
they also said something like people owe approx 8Million dollars (unpaid fees)
(not sure how true that is either)
