the Actual Work-Out thread

LOL I will let you decide. However I would like to add that I purpose that running into a brick wall will hurt more then running into a wall of pillows. Jus sayin. But landing precise kicks is pretty damn hard and in most striking simply not a well executed amateur move.

Not to mention there’s guys like me who train for HOURS AND HOURS to instinctually catch and strike someone who kicks from the torso up. I haven’t seen anyone yet who can kick above the leg convincingly on the fly.

edit: soccer kicks when a guy is down are mad gay lame :frowning:

Bump!

Anyone having good workouts? I had the worst legs day ever yesterday. :frowning:

i’ve been seein some good results lately. Shoulders are coming along nicely. My back hates you everytime I do deadlifts, but not for about 36 hours later (like right now).

Im sort of into the learning how to fight/box thing, where and how much does this training cost?

What find of “fighting” are you looking to do?

Ehh, well i really dont know much about what around locally. I watch UFC and think it would be cool to learn some of the styles, BJJ seems interesting.

I’ve been interested in Krav Maga for a while now. I don’t have much experience fighting but I did wrestle in high school. Apart from the defensive tactics I learned at work, I would like to incorporate Krav Maga as well. I heard The Training Edge is the only place in town? Seems pretty expensive. Any alternatives?

Yeah, i was on the wrestling team my freshman year in High school but i didnt like it at the time, i kinda wish i could of done it the rest of my high school year’s now.

One thing that pisses me the f off about Krav is how marketed it is. Ugh.

I was gonna say it doesnt say how much, at least i couldnt find it. Is there any other places besides them?

They are the only place i know of that is dedicated to training for MMA/fighting in general in Buff but not saying I really looked. IIRC it is $65 a month there. Khoveraki recently joined there and like it.

So Buffalo Training Center is $65 a month, for how many days a week do you get to train?

Hmmm I don’t want to say too much as im not 100% on it. Give them a buzz and post up what you find out!

anyone hear about Victory MMA center in Tonawanda? just opened in July, all i have is an address and phone #… and $45 a month…

There’s a place at main and transit that does Krav… is that the training edge? I remember the rates were reasonable.

There’s also one in lockport. Man there’s a lot of MMA gyms now, just a matter of time before MMA is legal in NY. Can’t wait to see the new competition coming from all these gyms.

That article is super bias… The gym I go to (BTC in clarence) has a huge open mat, tons of bags, a full cage, and a workout area. 8 coaches training us in BJJ, no Gi JJ, Wrestling, flexibility, endurance and strength, striking, MMA tactics. I dunno about pilates being necessary…

Whatever gym you go to though, make sure the coaches have legit credentials. At the very least, 2-3 professional matches for MMA teachers, and a few high tier BJJ tournaments for your BJJ coach.

im thinking about signing up again and box via classes again… plus i really wanna learn some ground game
