the Actual Work-Out thread

BUMP anyone still workout lol!!!

I am now just gonna cut as much fat off my body as possible, started HIT Cardio today, i almost felt like i was gonna puke!!! I am also going to start a keto diet, no more carbs unless i need them for working out, which would only be consumed pre and post workout on that day.

Yep, I’ve been going 3-4 days a week since May. I’m down 5 pounds or so and can definitely see results. I dont want to loose too much more weight though but its bound to happen.

I tried running and I can do alright, I did 5.6 in 52 minutes one day, and tried to do it again 2-3 days later, my knees couldnt take it.

HIT Cardio makes you burn calories faster, and i’ll tell you it isn’t boring lol.

I tried HIT once. I think I even have that MP3 that someone posted still. I really should run more. I dont want to get jacked, just cut.

I tried getting jacked, its hard for me having a fast metabolism/genetics. I can carry a little fat on my stomach, enough to keep me from having abs unless i flx them. The muscle i did pick up is enough for me for now, i just want to look nice and cut for the summer, then i’ll probly bulk up again.

I’m still lifting/running 4 days a week and swimming 1. I’ve been using jacked for a few months and it really helped at first, now I’m not sure if it’s got the same kick because I’m used to it.

I haven’t gotten much stronger this summer, but I have become a little more cut / lost 5lbs. without losing any strength. Now I want to go from 170lbs to 190 without gaining fat like a did a couple years ago. It’s not easy.

lol I lost 15 pounds in two weeks in Thailand (196 down to 181), came back and hit the gym and was weak as shit, then went on the road for work for 2 more weeks. So I’m completely out of the workout routine. I’m still under 190, but I wonder if I can even bench sets @ 185 anymore. :roflpicard: I have to travel again next week, but when I get back I may do another creatine cycle and get my ass back in gear. :karter:

load your creatine if youre going to use it, no its not bad to load it. Creatine makes you retain water though so it may make you look fatter. Whever i take creatine my abs go away and i get a little belly, so i just dont take it

I’ve always thought that creatine is not a booster for people who haven’t gone to the gym in a while… It’s more of a “I’ve stopped getting gains, help!”

Yeah I’m a little weaker too, I’m gonna try to get shredded I’m starving!!! Damn no carb diet! Everything in the Vending machine has carbs!!!

 1/4 mile run to the gym, a bit of lifting at the gym, then a 1.5 mile run at a blistering 9 min/mi pace and I’m spent.

im super jacked now

im bumping this up.

now that my car is broke im gunna re-dedicate myself to lifting. ive bout lost 30lbs since april bc i wasnt training!

going for a 1300lb total for squat/bench/deadlift @181lbs. right now im probly about 1100@166ish, and my personal best was 1230@176, so i got my work cut out for me.

You combine the weight for deadlifts and squats? Never heard of this as a gauge of strength before. I mean usually people just say I deadlifts this, and squat this. Not knocking you, I mean you did add them together right? I need to get my ass in gear too! I feel like I may have strained my rotator cuff a couple months ago, now I guess I’m gonna just stay away and hope it gets to 100%

That is the standard of judging the three events in competition lol
Each designated league has their own versions but generally in powerlifting you go by your big three individual and keep a tally of combined.

I used to do over 1300 at 205. Geehee has witnessed this.

Probably couldn’t even do 1k right now. Haven;t done anything really heavy after I found out I had arthritis and multiple other back injuries(from combat injury not lifting)

its been judged like that for like 3 or 4 decades.

the international powerlifting federation is kinda the raw world standard. the us powerlifting association uses their rules and regulations.

they go by weight classes, and total weight moved sucessfully.

1300 is no joke. all of the qualifying totals just got bumped up ~50-100lbs. thumbs down to that. ha.

wheres the hgh when ya need it?

Awe, i don’t do powerlifting! went to see an orthepedic physician and apparently i may have had a small strain in my right pec, rotator cuff is perfect and un-injured. Now if I stop boozing I can get big lol… well try to get big damn why do I have to be an ectomorph! Since I was affraid of having an injury I have been jogging and it feels like my body is made for it, damn I want to be BIG though!

2 months ago, I was ~180 lbs, now ~200lbs.

2 months ago, I could barley bench press 225lbs, maybe like 4-5 at the MOST.
Now, I can do 3 solid sets of 8 reps each of 225 lbs.
The other night after this ^ I tried 275, which I got 3 clean reps. I think if I tried fresh I could do 315 x1

I’m going for strength and bulk up until the end of this year, then I’m gonna cut. I want to be a solid 215 and I’d like to be at the 1000# mark for the 3 excersises.

I can deadlift 405 maybe 4-5 times but I HATE deadlifting heavy weight as I always feel I’m going to hurt myself. blah.

Squats- I’ve never tried heavy weight I usually do 225, 3 sets of 12-15 depending on how I feel… but I do have pretty strong legs as I can leg press 720lbs (16 45’s plates, thats all the plates that will fit on the machine) with relative ease, I guess I need to give it a shot

1300 is fkn srs bsns. I was just a tick over the 1k mark WITH a 225 1rep max bench. I was focusing on pulling a ton off the floor and was a squat junkie. knocked all that off after stuff started tearing. didn’t want to have to wrap everything to stay together. been working on a few beach muscles and upper body and upper/lower back for a little mass. leaving the legs light and not deadlifting over 405. feels good to be able to work with 225 on bench vs feeling like it’s going to kill me.

a for every rep past a single, add 10lbs and thats a good guesstimator for peak strength, as long as its not like a billion reps. there are a few 1RM calc charts on the net to give you a ball park number too.

squating > leg press. x infinity. give it some serious effort and every exercise will see improvement. nice progress.

it sucks that even with a total that high, we couldnt even qualify for a powerlifting event unless we weighed 166lbs. very demoralizing, ha.

ive been rocking 5-6 sets of 2-3 reps, with an 8 rep final set up, and two warm up sets. been working pretty well so far. Ed Coan has some sweet simplistic routines ive been eyeing and modifying. he totalled like 2400lbs@220!
