just seeing this thread for the first time. anyone go to the jcc on delaware in buffalo? i’ve been going every other day for about 3 months now (joined ~5 months ago but broke my foot playing hockey)
is anyone still working out lol?
Wahoo you got a gf now so you’re probably all weak(er) and small(er)
I can FINALLY workout again. Broke my hand in 2 places and fractured my wrist. (in april) healing process is taking way longer than i expected. I probably wouldn’t trust lifting over 80lbs with that hand yet though so im just going to be tking is slow. I NEED to put on mass. Any suggestions? I will be clean bulking & taking my supplements but i want to know if there is anything else to do. Im like the skinniest 185lb kid ever.
I found out that I lift A LOT more when there are hot girls present (insert meathead comment) but FUCK, when its me and like 2 old ladies, I just can’t find the motivation I have when theres about 10 hot girls walking around with 5 lbs dumbbells.
bumping this up. i have been making my own supplements, only on my first week actually using them. it is EXTREMELY hard fighting the urge to throw up immediately, and even 20minutes after taking them due to the taste. is there anything i should mix with? Like … what flavor koolaide is the strongest to negate the taste of powder lol.
or should i just crush them into pills/capsules.
What on earth are you taking? If you take whey too soon before working out (I doubt you’re lifting hard enough) can be toxic. I usually lift, run or spin empty. I’ve been fighting that to get some fuel in myself b/c I’ve been smelling ammonia in my sweat from my body breaking down the amino acids in protein for energy and my body/kidneys unable to handle the excess ammonia into urea and expelled in urine. This can happen once you deplete your glycogen stored in your liver and is toxic in your bloodstream. I’ve been carrying gels lately running and riding my bike more and using them where I would suffer before.
basically… jack3d. or whatever. i have never had it so i don’t know how it tastes.
but everything is in it’s raw form and tastes like fucking shit.
if you can imagine drinking puke, that is how it tastes
Jack3d from USP labs will rock your world if you’re not ready for it. Mix half a scoop with 8oz water, stir quickly, swirl glass & shoot it back all @ once… Once you adapt you can increase intake. I was up to the full 3 scoops on back/deadlift days but didn’t dare take anywhere near that much on arm days b/c I couldn’t even bend my arms b/c my biceps were so full of blood.
I take that BSN NO Xplode, but running low. May try jack3d as I’m slowing on my squats. Just about 3 plates… 2 and a 25 now…
yeah it was probably the fact i had too much water mixed in so it was harder to take all at once
In the pool @ 6am today, changed cars w/a customer, and went to the gym by 8, worked chest til 10. Tomorrow is arms and shoulders, a Yoga/Pilates/Tai chi class, then Spinning. I’m teaching Spinning Friday @ 9:30am if anyone cares to join me. After the 1st of the year, I’ll be on the schedule at 8:30am Mondays in Lancaster teaching Spinning.
Sweet deal man! I could never get up early to swim at six. Been going to the gym almost daily for a week now.
stick with it. what are your goals?
Any of you guys ever try this?
Holy fucking pre-workout energy boost. Says to take 1-2 scoops but a half is more than enough. Only thing is it makes me sweat like a damn pig, feels like every room is 20 degrees hotter.
I’ve used Superpump, and Superpump 250 from Gaspari, Jack3d from USP Labs, 1MR from Bpi, and Serum from Magnum.
Jack3d was my favorite, gave me that boost I needed afterwork, but gave me some trouble sleeping if I took it to late and didn’t wear myself out. Now I just use pure motivation.
I’ve gone to 3-day a week strength schedule, Back/Bi’s, Chest/Tris, Shoulders/Legs. Back/Bi’s has really helped me work through a plateau and this one hammer strength machine has become a favorite. Almost always to 21 made in 42s (21 inside grip, 21 outside grip on easy curl bar). However leg workouts have been somewhat relaxed as of late as my left knee’s been giving me some trouble. Pressure, minor swelling, no pain.
Knee strap solves it and based on where the discomfort was I’m gathering strained patellar tendon. Elliptical on hills and valleys mode for 30mins good to go after most workouts.
On the other days of the week between the “big 3” in the mornings I do different kinds of core stuff mixed with push-ups, pull-ups, body-weight stuff etc., but the holiday and grind of the hospital have me skipping more days than I want to be.
December is full steam ahead though in prep for the Field Medical Training Battalion (I report in January, 8 week camping trip with yelling, paper tests, and physical fitness Marine Corp style, some say its tough others say no sweat), hey in 6 months I could be deployed with Marines, Army or some sort of NATO adventure. Navy Corpsman IA crazy stuff.
I have one of the few rates(jobs) in the navy that I might never actually be on a ship, especially since I have “green-side” aka Marine Detachment, orders.
A year ago I was swinging hammers and now I’m drawing blood as a “phlebotomist” until I go to Field Med. So make a goal and stick with it!
I really like this. The week-to-week variation and the splits are perfect. Not that I know anything haha.
I just switched to best fitness on sheridan, from world gym in the falls and it seems decent so far.
Lose 30-40lbs, be able to run a few miles (I’ve done the 5k loop at rit in 26 mins a couple times), get a beach body. I was lost 25 pounds 2 summers ago from 205 to 180 and now I am at 215. You would never guess if you saw me but I can kinda see it in my face and definitely in my gut.
It’s mostly maintenance as I get into my late 20’s
ive been really good with not missing any gym days until this week :ham:
ill be going for sure tonite, tomorrow and friday
fuck cleans (power cleans, starting from the bar on the floor) I’m doing 3 sets of about 5 reps with 185 lbs. The next two days my traps and arms are on fire.
also, fuck: good mornings and straight leg deadlifts. There’s a reason why they are called “good mornings”
Fuck working out.
I’ve been super lazy since college which is a shame. Since then I couldn’t stick with working out for more than 3 months, finally I’ve been working out and sticking with it. Started doing just cardio during the summer and I’ve been back in the gym since the beginning of Aug.
My biggest issue has been my rotating schedule which I don’t have anymore so now that I usually sleep and wake up at the same time it makes it much easier.
Started doing Wendlers 5/3/1, After the first week I came to terms with the fact I was being lazy on my self designed workout. I already knew this because I stuck with workouts I was comfortable with and didn’t really push myself.
I’m going to stick with this for a while and see how it goes.
