the Actual Work-Out thread

That is definitely not right. Unless your just packing on a very abnormal amount of water weight, no one should be taking on weight that quickly.

I’ve been a pretty light guy my whole life, I went from 145 to 163 in less than a month, I know it’s hard to believe, all my gym buddies and even the regulars that are there when I am all thought I was juicing.

Edit: I’ll try and find some before and afters, it’s pretty crazy the difference

Started a new Upper/Lower split today, takes a lot less time than my previous routine and focuses a ton on only a few compound lifts. Excited to see results!

If your insurance covers it, I would highly recommend getting bloodwork every few years. You can pinpoint your exact supplement needs.

that’s actually the first time i’ve heard that. I have been told many times by trainers/doctors that if you are going to start loading up on protein you surly want to be taking vitamins to take care of your kidneys.

I am not sure why protein would affect your kidneys, nor why vitamins would prevent it. I would also like to meet one doctor who recommends multivitamins.

Just bec. it needed a repost, and this thread seemed best…

Bet you guys have been benching all wrong:

Creatine just bloats me then none of my clothes fit because im holding so much water weight. I plan on lifting till im a old man, so ill try to stay as supplement free for as long as possible.

Depends on what goals you’re trying to achieve. Creatine will not help in weight loss and should only be used when you feel like you’re not gaining strength. I’m not sure what your build is either, just speaking from experience.

When I first started taking Creatine, during the load period, I knew I was retaining water weight. I went from 185 to 196 within 1-2 weeks. Keep in mind, I just started working out 2 months prior, and now I was at the gym 4 days a week + hockey.

Now I’ve leaned out and sit at about 190 and can definitely notice gains. My all around gains have vastly improved, but squatting massively increased. Actually, in hockey I’m less fatigued from skating.

I suppose it all comes down to what you eat, drink and the sleep you get per night to truly tell.

I’ve been on my new macros and workouts for 8 days and I’ve dropped 5 pounds with increased lifts. I’ve cut out all Animal Products and my skin has gotten SO much better. I now only use Alphagen which is an amazing pre work out I’d recommend to anyone, as well as creatine monohydrate.

I started a personal trainer, I use Jadablitz, covers nutrition, workouts, personal workouts for a fair price. I still go to World Gym.

Justin Draper is the owner, his website is http://www.jadablitz.com/

Working on my form alone I’ve been getting stronger by lifting less. Until I went to him and his crew I never realized how off my form was throughout the majority of my exercises. I’m sure most of the NYSpeeders on here are in the same boat I used to be in, revamp your form your gains will be incredible!!

Also forgot to add, if anyone here goes to world’s on dick/georgre urban I’m happy to lend a spot or some help if I can.

Anyone here go to Athletes Unleashed in OP?

Nobody that I know of, I go to Best Fitness and Worlds

I go to the cougar hunting ground, I mean JCC, in Williamsville. It’s like a country club. Trophy wives everywhere. Top notch equipment too.

anyone doing the Arnold Blueprint?

im in my first week of it but used to doing a 4x a week routine, needless to say this is kicking my ass but in a good way.

I just got back into working out. Maybe I’ll start the blueprint thing tomorrow

One of my best resources as of late is Fitness Blender. They are a husband and wife combo who have hundreds of workout videos, all searchable, and they are free. The production quality blows P90x and others away, and the price just pushes it over the edge. Great stuff

You can search using many variables, and find exactly what you need.

Wow that looks pretty awesome. I was doing Steve Cook’s Big Man on Campus schedule and really liked that. Maybe I’ll mesh both.

I haven’t been to the gym in forever and just can’t seem to get back into like I was.

Don’t fool yourselves guys, no fance program is going to make you ripped, it always comes down to old fashioned exercise and PROPER DIET. I myself lift 45 min a day, do cardio for 15, and MMA 3x a week. Supplements I use Creatine Monohydate and Pre-workout maybe 1x a week if I’m feeling sluggish.

^ I agree. So does Mike O’Hearn. Interview kinda sucks but you get the point. Start at about 1:05

<Edit> apparently the time anchoring in the video doesn’t work in the links on here?
