starting 20 squat reps + gallon of milk a day routine

Basic concept: take your 5RM and minus 90lbs. Do 20 reps of that weight, and increase 5 lbs every day. (3x a week scheduled) and drink a gallon of milk a day (i’m going to substitute a gallon with ON protein shakes)

I’ll post in 6 weeks of my progress. So far, I’m squatting 335x5. I’m going to play it safe and start at 225lbs for 20 reps. should be hating my life soon.

I think you should just use milk for it. It’s the total calories not the protein alone that dictates gaining muscle or strength.

Some people do the gallon of milk thing and get some bad acne from it.

Also milk would be cheaper just to drink a gallon of milk a day than the ON. 1 cup of milk has 8 grams of protein, how are you going to size the scoop properly with ON whey?

EDIT: what are your goals and body type? I don’t drink an entire gallon a day but I drink whole milk with every meal(at home meals).

i’m not so much focusing on the gallon of milk, as I am getting good clean full squats.

yesterday I warmed up with 135, then repped 20 @205lbs. felt good. excited to get closer to 300

That’s not medically proven. There is no scientific evidence showing correlations between food and acne as of yet.

Is there evidence that a gallon of milk is necessary or beneficial in any way?

Its more or less used as easy way to increase your calories for the day. Some people may eat like 7,000 calories a day. For me I eat about 4,000. So you see if you try to focus and drink a gallon of milk a day, almost like water, with each meal and just maybe a cup every hour or two to drink the entire gallon, (would need a desk job I suppose), you can squeeze a ton more calories in. The gallon of milk aday would be additional to your normal meals.

I set a new PR monday, I 1 rep maxxed 235lbs(flat bench), woot I only weigh 158lbs. Im taking bulk andro kit by LG Science (non liver toxic LEGAL prohormones ), I gained 4-5lbs of what I believe to be muscle in 4weeks. Which is great considering being a hardgainer, I feel like I’ve been platqued for years!

Let us know results, I drink about half a gallon of skin a day. Do not listen to the haters on here, nutrition is different for everyone, a gallon of milk will not hurt you if you properly balance it out with other foods. Seriously just looking at the above replies to your milk comment makes me LOL I can bet 90% of these guys look like shit with their shirts off, especially some of the member in this thread who are juice heads. There’s only one secret to looking good, proper diet and being all natural. You don’t need to bench 500 pounds and look disgusting, if you want to put your NATURAL strength to use, take martial arts.

Edit: anything you take over the counter, whether animal products or testosterone, which I’ve taken, you’ll see gains and then they dissapear when your cycle is over. I implore to anyone, don’t waste your money.

I’m not against drinking milk, I drink whole milk everyday, I’m not doing the drink a gallon a day thing, maybe one day I will though.

I’m not saying drinking a gallon of milk is bad, I just haven’t seen any evidence that it’s beneficial.

It’s not beneficial in the sense that it will give you super powers, it’s beneficial in the sense it will help you meet your macros. You could drink three gallons a day and just cut out macros someplace else. It’s not what you eat, it’s HOW MUCH you eat. Shit the other day I had four slices of papa johns, those four slices were my fat macros for the day around 58 grams, so the rest of the day I had plain chicken, skim milk and salad, all have protein and carbs but no fat, see what I mean? Instead of eating almonds through the day you could substitute a Big Mac.

If you are looking to compete I’d work a little more on your symmetry and posing. For physique the posing is completely different though and almost like bikini.
What show were you looking to compete in? I’m the show manager for the Natural Muscle shows. For you I would say def do a natty show and don’t bother with an npc show or similar until you add more size.
