He said they have been there forever and have not gotten worse or caused an issue in his time owning the home.
I understand that, but I’m just saying that at least he can get it in writing saying that it isn’t as big a deal as this guy thinks it is.
Andy, very sorry to hear man…
+1
You know the BS I recently went through with a home inspector. Sux
They’re just shrinkage / stress cracks. 95% of basements have them. I know they’re not an issue, that’s why I didn’t bother with them. I could never sell a house if the walls were falling in. Would be like saying your gonna scrap a car because the paint had some scratches.
A little update. Vacant land sale contract in progress. We have a tentative contract in place for the sale of our home as well, but still showing it (today as a matter of fact) as the contract is not finalized and I’m no longer calling something “sold” until my hands are fondling the cash. I needed to locate my search and survey and also stumbled across the original home inspection from almost 19 years ago. Found some pics they took and completely forgot what a shithole this place was when I bought it. Too bad they didn’t take pics of the interior. Enjoy.
That driveway looks awesome. Great work!
Ummmm…I did do some other work around the house too man.
Sorry, that computer looks awesome!
That’s better.
While I did not see Andy’s house when he bought it, I can certainly attest to how nice it is now…
I just sold my house a block down from you on Chapman. Houses in this price range sell pretty fast in that neighborhood.
Are you the house with all the “patriot” decor?
Just a heads up for you guys. The inspection on our home was finalized tonight so the barring any meteor showers, flash floods, Iraqi invasions, etc., our house is sold. This was the last (and biggest piece) of the puzzle. Now the clock starts ticking and I need to scramble to get everything ready to move in less than 60 days or so. I will be updating my other post on items going up for sale and / or free as I start going through all my stuff.
One item of note, I met the seller at the new house this weekend and they have begun the monumental task of going through all their aunt’s stuff, determining what they want to keep for sentimental value and what else will be sold off. If I remember correctly, I believe he said they were going to plan a garage sale for sometime around the weekend of the Fourth of July. Maybe not the best planning timewise, but they’re from out of town and it may be the only option they have available.
In any event, I will be stopping out there this weekend to see where they ended up on their sorting and I can get a better preview of what they will have available. I do know they are going to have a fair amount of furniture (beds, dressers, chairs, tables, lamps, etc.) along with some appliances I believe. Once I have finalized the dates with the guy, I’ll update this thread or create another so you guys can get “first crack” at this stuff. I’m not promising flat screen tv’s for $ 20.00 but you never know what you might need.
By any chance were you at lowes in hamburg around 1:30 today? I saw a work truck with arrow on it.
Yes, actually I think I was there twice. Should’ve stopped me. Only two Arrow trucks around these parts.
I would have but only saw the truck, no one by it.
Well it’s finally over. We closed on Friday and moved in on Saturday. If there is a hell in my future I can only imagine it would be set up so I would have to sell a house, buy one, go through the closing processes, and move all my shit into a new one…for eternity. Once all the parties involved got their shit together, the closing on Friday just consisted of some checks and signing our names countless times for close to 45 minutes. They couls’ve put a form in front of me stating I was the ring leader of the largest kiddie porn organization in the country and I would’ve signed that too. No one had time to read much more than the title. As the remodeling end of it goes, pretty much got it done in time…sort of. The laundry room has light and functioning equipment but it’s probably about 60 % complete. Kitchen has a couple more details (toe kicks, piece of crown, window trim, some scribe mouldings) and that’s done too. Wife’s using it already and the layout seems to work better than I expected. Will have a list on projects over the next year or two but right now the furnace and driveway are priority. Finally got me a garage for the rocket.
Sorry about the clarity. Will post some clearer / updated ones when I get a chance.
About 7-8 of these guys walked up my driveway Sunday morning.
is there a third lazy susan on the left of the stove?
i have the same turkey problem…right now there are about 2 dozen baby ones running around too…they are always popping out of the high grass when i mow the law…scare the shit out of me
That kitchen looks awesome, man. Just box in that old style jack post thingie…
