um using man power for dead bodies is NOT a priority and never will be. Sucks they died the way the did, but there are much bigger issues at hand than a proper burial.
These people are still surrounded by water. Its not like they can just start walking north and that is why this is such a big problem. Those people at the convention center and so forth are still “trapped” Until they are all evacuated and there is no one left, body recovery will not begin.

The Guard has a unique dual mission, with both Federal and State responsibilities. During peacetime, the Governor through the State Adjutant General commands Guard forces. The Governor can call the Guard into action during local or statewide emergencies, such as storms, drought, and civil disturbances, to name a few. In addition, the President of the United States can activate the National Guard to participate in Federal missions. Examples of this are the many Guard units that have deployed to support operations in Bosnia. When federalized, Guard units are commanded by the Commander in Chief of the theatre in which they are operating.
As stated before which it is not in that little section explainng control, The federal government usually only deplys guard units over seas when they need extra support for specialized units.

IC / Unfortunatly with the man power they have this is not feasable at this time. This isn’t “two” building specific like 9/11 (Yes I know it was more than the two towers).
