The bills all state that the public option has to be self-sustaining, through the use of premiums. It isn’t going to suck up tax dollars. If it’s not efficient enough to sustain itself, it dies off. So YOUR argument is invalid.
We were emerging from the depression before we even got into WWII. And whether it was on war stuff, or social programs, deficit spending primed the pump to create the boom.
Obama says he is going to fix a HALF A TRILLION DOLLARS in fraud.
LMFAO!!! This guy gets funnier everyday!!!
It will be great when this passes and unemployment tops 20%.
Who is going to pay for it then bitch?
40% tax?!?!? Are you out of your fucking mind?
Do they not teach basic math at Harvard? Harvard must be so embarrassed right about now. LOL
Sidenote: Even when he “accepted” the Nobel prize he did a shitty job reading from notes. I demand to see his IQ!!! LOL
I do give him an A+ for determination on destroying this nation.
All I will say is that I hate taxes, and I don’t fucking care about people who can’t afford things in life.
I don’t mind paying taxes which efficiently pay for/ create an army for protection, infrastructure, and public buildings / places such as libraries, schools, court houses etc.
I hear this all the time from people who can’t relate to being in a bad situation. I myself preached these same sentiments about our tax money taking care of the “lazy”. all I got to say is, opinions change quick when you or a loved one come down with a debilitating illness like cancer. when you lose your job and your health insurance and your only source of income is SSDI…how do you think your going to pay for the treatment and medication?
Actually, the NIH / NSF fund much of the exploratory research to develop new treatments, whether it be at a public or private institution. Just ask big pharma what they’ve been up to recently:
What I really don’t understand is, if the government can’t handle the problems with Medicaid, how are they going to take on something exponentially larger, and not fuck it up?
for those on the tort reform bandwagon, the projection in savings would be $54 billion in health care costs over 10 years. (Congressional Budget Office, oct, 9th)
5 billion a year is not going to cover very much in the big picture.
I think it’s great if we can get it, but it’s really a pretty small side issue to the real reform.
I’m not suggesting the government can do any better. The problem is the ridiculous cost of health care in this country. And the government can do something about that. We do have the best health care in the world and I don’t think anyone wants to neuter the industry like canada does. But at the same time, everyone knows there is something wrong when the all mighty dollar is more important than the patient.
THIS JUST IN… My healthcare cost increase next year is 37%.
I guess they know 2013 is the end so they are cashing in now.
I just increased my customer pricing by 5% for the first time in 2 years and my customers are BITCHING.
I wish I could increase my prices 37%/year but I have foreign competition.
I don’t really know at this point but I am researching the cost of firing everyone and getting robots. LOL
They get more attractive every year thanks to things like this. Oh and they will be Chinese made robots.
My health care premium is going up 20% starting November 1st and my dental is going up 100%, yay! Oh any my company is looking at reducing their contribution again, was 80%, now 78%, and they’re still looking to go down to 75%.
