yeah, that movie dragged on and on, just like the one before it.
Public Enemies. 7/10
A little bit long and dragged out,I was expecting more being that Michael Mann directed it (Heat,Collateral)
It was a good movie, however it didn’t live up to its potential.Bale and Depp were great as usual.
.
F&F4 - 7/10. I feel that the original is still the best one so far (and thats not saying much), but this was a close second - smoking the 90min video games in betwixt. Bonus point for going back to less then 70% CGI cars.
Frost / Nixon - 7/10. Solidly played by all parties, but poorly written for screen. I think it tried to hard to be a History channel show, and missed that mark as well.
The Hangover - 8/10. Funny, but not the ‘Holy Grail’ some people make it out to be. Same as every other sitcom movie: predictable, full of plot devices, and heavy on the slapstick. I’ll watch it again with people, but its certainly no ‘blazing saddles’ or even ‘Superbad’. Oh yea - heather graham is still hot, and I miss vegas.
Taken - 6/10. Modern day ‘Commando’ with a better producer, and even less plot.
Saw Quantam of Solace a while ago - its an 8/10 IMO, but you have to appreciate Bond films to enjoy it.
Public Enemies. Great movie, fantastic acting and script. I seriously would’ve given it a 9/10 HOWEVER. Some dumbass decided that half of the second unit shit would seriously be shot on a handy-cam with an epileptic on crack at the helm. You’d have static shots of a character sitting on a bench having dialogue and you wouldn’t be able to focus on their faces because of the amount of camera movement. The odd part was that only certain points in the movie had this retarded “effect”. This alone knocked it down to a 6.5/10 for me because of how annoyed I was.
The Code - 7/10 not bad at all… has your typical twist to it. The vault break scene was no oceans 11… but not bad…
Gran Torino - 8.8/10
I loved it.
Gran Torino - 8.8/10
I loved it.
The International - 4/10
It tried to be the Pelican Brief and failed. The ended sucked too, but was about what I expected from the political message they ever so thinly tried to hide under the surface.
Attention Hollywood… a lot of us just want to be entertained, not preached to. If we wanted political messages we’d be watching CNN, Fox or C-Span.
Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus - .1/10
I included a link to the trailer since most of you are probably saying, “what the fuck is this shit?”. The title caught my eye while looking for 08/09 movie releases in the newsgroups. Seeing a shark take down a 747 cruising at 30,000 feet in the trailer had me hoping this would be a super cheesy B-movie that would make fun of itself. The fact that it had Debby (I’m sorry, Deborah) Gibson and Lorenzo Lamas (yeah bitch, The RENEGADE) sealed it.
Unfortunately it tried to be a serious drama/action movie. Yeah, a movie where a shark leaps to 30,000 feet and om nom nom’s a commercial airliner tried to pull off serious. Further cluster fucking this plot was an underlying environmental message. “Save the sea creatures… well, except that giant shark/octopus that keep killing people… lets fuck them up”.
The Princess Bride - 8/10
I don’t care how many times I see this movie it’s still funny. Plus it has Andrea the Giant. Come on.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - 7/10
The wife wanted to watch this again before the new movie came out. After being dragged to the first one I have to admit I’m a fan. The even increasing darkness of the story line has me really looking forward to Half-Blood Prince.
gran torino… 9/10 awsome movie
this was one of my fav parts http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8coq2cUn1U
Gran Torino = 8.2
And the Movie TAKEN is a 9.4 outta ten
awesome movie!!
Knowing
I was quite surprised, this movie was actually pretty interesting and had my attention throughout the entire flick. It was like ‘Day After Tomorrow’ meets ‘Signs’ with some Nostradamus tossed in.
7.5/10
Taken - 7.5/10
Up- 6.5/10
Public Enemies- 5/10
I was pretty disappointed with this movie. It could have been 30 minutes shorter and it would not have mattered.
Harry Potter- Half Blood Prince- 9/10
Best movie of the series yet. I read the entire series almost exactly 1 year ago, so the books aren’t fresh in my head by any means. That actually attributed to why I liked the movie so much; I was able to just enjoy it instead of picking apart all the stuff they left out.
Braveheart - 9/10.
Course, I’ve seen it a billion times, but it was on last night. So good.

Gran Torino…8/10
Star Trek(2009) 9/10
Public Enemies 4/10
X-Men Origins: Wolverine - 6/10, the worst yet IMO, just flew threw so much with no real consistent direction, and story line was pretty lame. So many things that just didn’t make sense too…while i understand fiction isn’t going to seem realistic at all, so many things just didn’t go well together at all.
Taken - 9/10, pretty badass.
Public Enemy - 8/10, Great movie, up until the end…just ended too abruptly. Don’t wanna spoil it for anyone, but one second you’re looking forward to a big job that’s been mentioned previously and leading up to it you get anxious to see how it’s pulled off…then…the end. Some of the gun fights were a little long and anti-climactic too, the movie could have been easily 20 minutes shorter if they didn’t have to show each guy put 4 drums of bullets into trees/cars/the sides of houses every gun fight.
Defiance - 10/10
War movie about a rebel jew army in WW2. Never a dull moment.
